The initial location Bishan CC is under renovation. That why they look for this location to cater the student from this centre. Therefore, majority of the student are the existing student but of couse there also have some new student join provided there are vacancies for that time slot. Therefore, you can call and check the avaliability of time slot currently.

When the Bishan CC is renovated, will the AMK branch still operate but with different teachers? -
The renovation will complete in September. The AMK branch will continue operate so there might be possibility of some teachers remain. This still not known yet.

Hi! Need some feedback here. Is it ok not to join the normal class during the June holidays? Was told that they will not repeat the lesson in term 3.
-
Normally is ok as my kid also did not join. Initially , I did let him join but I found it still can cope as teacher still would do some revision at the beginning of term. The teacher during holiday might not be the same.

hi! Monster mummy,
Ya. That is my concern too , the teacher may not be the same. Think I will let my DD takes a break during the June holidays. -
You can monitor whether the miss cause him any issue to catch after school reopen.

My DD in P3 this year. Just started for one term as has been on waiting list. What level is your kid? How do you find the TS materials? In their mock test, she did not well. Is the material much harder than the school?

Yes, it's true that they will not repeat. it's advisable to sign up unless you are going overseas for holidays and can't commit to the June holiday schedule. -

I do not know if you did revise weekly with your child after Tien Hsia lesson at home and if you did a final revision prior to the mock test.
Though my child is not in primary level yet, my child has attended Tien Hsia for 3 years since Nursery. No matter how busy I am, I try my best to revise the Chinese word cards with her, go through Tien Hsia learning material with her weekly. Prior to mock test, (yes starting from Nursery all the way to K2 have mock tests - 1 test every term) I did final revision with her. I cannot depend 100% on the teacher to teach. I believe parents have to partner the teacher to help the child improve and parents must revise at home with the child even if in primary level.
A child who attends Tien Hsia classes have to revise at home with the parents to maximise learning potential. My child though is English potato, did very well in all her mock tests these past 3 years. It surprises me to know that at Nursey level there is mock test, but now I find that it helps a child when preparing for primary schools.
Overall, I'm very pleased with Tien Hsia and would highly recommend to all parents based on my high expectations which Tien Hsia has met.
