having an affiliated sec school is a safety net.

but to me, if my daughter can return to her affiliated sec, that is really something i hope for…the cop has been raised to 220 which is not easy to hit either.

Understand that St Nicholas is a \"full school\" whereby the alumni of St Nicholas secondary school can also get in via phrase 2A to their primary school.

Other than St Nicholas, which other school has such concession?
        How about SCGS ? Thanks.
Another full school is MGS (Bukit Timah)

ie. if you had studied in MGS Secondary before in the past, but not from MGS primary itself (meaning : you came from another primary school) -
Yes, You can register your daughter under Phase 2A.

MGS is considered a full school by MOE for P1 Registration for several years, and thus ex-students from our MGS Secondary school are considered as eligible for registering their daughter(s) into Phase 2A.

For an ex-student of our MGS Secondary School, she will be considered eligible to apply her daughter, as follow :-

        under Phase 2A (1) :-
if she has joined alumni at least one year before the registration date (for example : in order to register for P1 2014, phase 2A (1) registration will be held on July 2013, so parent must join Alumni before 30 June 2012 to qualify) or if she has not joined alumni, then she is eligible to apply under Phase 2A (2).

The first pre-requisite for a child to apply for phase 2A is :-
the child must be a Singapore citizen, or a Singapore permanent resident. This criteria is the first criteria for all phases 1 to 2A, 2B and 2C.

        For 2A application :-
parent has to produce proof that she had studied in MGS , either through a report book or O Level cert or School leaving certificate.

Originals are needed on the day of P1 registration and photocopy to be submitted. In order to show that parent is an alumni, she need to produce her alumni member number and date joined, so that we can check against alumni database. Some may wish to bring a letter from alumni certifying their membership.

          Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question.

yes, SCGS is also a full school. Ifi am not wrong the following schools are full schools :-

          1) CHIJ St Nicks
          2) MGS
          3) SCGS
          4) Catholic High school
          5) Maris Stella High School

Those schools with pri and sec in the same compound having the same principals will consider as full schools.

Oops, that means lesser space for phase 2C for SCGS

            😞

                Hi,

I have a question. When it said affilations, does it apply to siblings who are in Sec school that are affiliated to Pri school?

For example if DS1 is studying Cat High (sec 1), does DS2 given a seat in P1 assuming their age gap is 7 years apart?

Yes, it does. A Sibling in CHS secondary would receive the P1 application form to bring home for his younger brother if he indicates that he needs one. A letter asking if this is required is given to all boys in Primary AND Secondary every year in Late April or May.

How can I find out which are the ‘full schools?’ Is St Hilda’s primary and secondary considered full schools?

So if I studied in the secondary school but not the primary, does it mean my kid can get priority to the primary school?

I don't think St Hilda's is a full school. To my knowledge, only SNGS, SCGS, MGS, CHS and MSH are full schools. So no, you cannot get priority to St Hilda's primary school if you studied in St Hilda's secondary.
