@terry
hmm… I always try to be polically correct…, but maybe or did I make a mistake somewhere which condemn someone with my words.
I do not take anyone’s comment too personally, especially in forums, and I really do not have any complaint in those areas mentioned by you. But I am always eager to learn from my mistakes. If you do not mind, please highlight to me which comment suggest that someone is condemned by me in my previous posts and I will remove it.
I just feedback my humble opinion that in this world, if something is "not right" in anyone’s perspective, there exists many options if we are able to move a step backward to see a bigger picture to make wiser decisions, just like what you say which I agree is, not to because of small issue ($$$ ) to lose sight on bigger things (education for our kids).
And I do not really like people (refering to posts before yours) to talk bad things without ground, especially he or she is not the first person who experience it, in this case a neighbour.
Even if those issues mentioned are true, look at possible options,
1. Convert from PR to Citizen (for PR paying more)
2. Talk to the school (about the enrichment)
3. Avoid paying the unneccesary (join CCA only in P3)
4. Find a cheaper way out (like the canteen)
5. Finding more suitable schools
6. And maybe more other options.
Generally, like it or not, Singapore is a very expensive place to live even for the citizens, and I can imagine in this case it is much worst for the PR. There might be situation that is the other way round when Citizens maybe worst off or no different than PR, so its kind of balance up the whole thing.
Period, I am not going to comment any further about this issue. -

My son is in 4 Gentleness. No, I didn't volunteer to be class/level rep. I'm helping in the Math Rm during recess.

In GEP programme.

Hi JonC,hmm... Let me think... I really cannot recall me having complaint on the following...,
1. CCAs policy: it is compulsary only from P3. So P1 & P2 can opt out.
2. Teachers: I work very closely with the teacher when it concerns my DS.
3. Principal: He has is way and vision of how CH is managed.
4. Toilets: hmm... I thought they are all very clean even the ground floor ones which are near the canteen.
What about the rest of you?
PR, well, there exists an option to convert to Singaporean. There is a Chinese saying \"You cannot have Fish and Bear Paw together\" which means there is no such thing as having the best of both worlds without sacrifying something.
Me too.
I don't have any complain so far other than getting stressful & lots of headache trying to get DS to do his HW everyday.
1. CCAs policy: My DS is in P1 so not compulsary for him..anyway I've already checked with Tçhers & other parents whose DS r in upper Pri...so I am all prepared! I'm a kaisu mum  .
2. Teachers: Me too! I've emailed to chn tçher & guess wat she replied me at night after the school hour...CHS tçhers r free?? Only if the parents dun bother.
3. Principal: yes...cannot believe where he got all the energy.
4. Toilets: This is too trival a matter for me to bother anyway.
Complains?? Why? If parents have any questions...they should simply ask the sch & i'm sure they will be happy to address any concerns. -
ha ha
Kids will never willing sit down to do HW by themselves, I will bet my last dollar on that.
Try rewards and \"soft punishing\" (like ban some of his favorite stuff) method. -

I have imposed the rewarding system but amodes, spelling & ting xie runs weekly so DS start feeling lost of interest of my rewards.
Hummpphh... i have not thought of the \"\"soft punishing\".
Okay i will try banning him from playing his Lego & his weekend outings! hahaha -

May go down and help to wrap Hamper and to interact with other parents.
Great to hear another active parent.

For P1 & P2, boys will stay in the same class and only break up from P3. Is it right?
Which means no grading & re-allocation of classes based on results?
Appreciate your advice. -
Any idea when does CHS holds it PTS? Which month?
