Your DS is so sensible..
Remind him to relax & enjoy the holidays too.. Year-2 will be busier & more hectic.. -

My son is in year 1. He wishes to better understand the criteria for his preferred subject combination and work hard for it next year.
there will be talks on subject combi, RA offerings and criteria for pupils and parents early next year.
basically, if your son is aiming for any RA, the first semester's performance is most crucial.
whether he is aiming for 10 or 9 subjects, the overall GPA is crucial. So work on the weak subjects tt are compulsory for GPA calculations. Consistency is key.
all the best and happy hols! -

I think there's a std procedure for appeals which should be on the stamford portal.
hi naggo-nitemare, thank you for responsesnowlotus:
From what i gather from my DS' n his classmates' experiences, not getting 1st choice is almost unheard of. The school does try its best to meet all choice requests.
btw, in case not able to get the 1st choice, can still 'apeal' or not?

Year-2 boys will be informed of their subject combinations on-line via GoTo (Stamford too?) tomorrow.. Good Luck to all !!

The school is conducting a parents’ briefing this evening on Malaysia Montage 2014 if we have further queries on the programme.
Just wondering what additional info would be gathered from the briefing since the info in the letter to parents is very comprehensive. Should I give it a miss since it’s my DS’ birthday today… -

don't think it's essential to attend the briefing unless u have other things to clarify. I didn't attend last year either when ds was in year 1. Think the letter is quite informative already. The school is conducting a parents' briefing this evening on Malaysia Montage 2014 if we have further queries on the programme.

Ds said the best event so far is the Malaysian Montage - very relaxing. Stayed in four star hotel, good food, and he enjoyed the ostrich farm and jam making.

Firefly and VSK, thank you! We decided to give it a miss and spend the time with the birthday boy…
Hope your DS get their first choice !
