Hi yes, ur dd can appeal to take HCL, however, I believe she will have to sit for a test to determine the outcome.. best to call your dd's choice school n talk to HOD Language.
I appealed to take HCL in Sec 1 and there was no entrance test. I wrote to the Principal and got my parents to sign. I think as long as the child really wants to try HCL, the school will allow. But to continue HCL after Sec 2, the student must get more than 55 marks. For that, appealing is not allowed. -

All Crescentians/parents of Crescentians,
the PSG seems to be having a book sale of second-hand books(text, assessment and guide)tomorrow from 10am to 2 pm at the school foyer.
Proceeds will be donated to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan(Philippines). -
MMM:
Hello MMM,Hi, need advice.
To be able to take HCL in Sec 1, what are the criteria besides PSLE outcome?
Eg. if based on PSLE outcome, HCL is not offered, can the child still try to do HCL?
Based on friend's dd who is in the school, if the child has done well for Chinese in Sec 1 and Sec 2, she will be given the chance to take up HCL in Sec 3. You can check with the teachers on Reporting Day.

Yes, that's right, Crescentians, do come down to support :please: . Please note that some books may not be in your current booklist, however they act as good reference materials and can be used for further practise as well. -

If the student does not take HCL in lower sec, she will not be allowed to take HCL in upper sec as well. Students can only drop from HCL to CL but not the other way round.

Dear All,
Thanks for your advice on HCL. Yes, will definitely consider seeking the teacherβs advice on she can try for HCL. Still think itβs a waste to be giving that up. -

Hihi! Few questions...

* Wonder how is the focus on Chinese language in the school as compared to schools like Chung cheng high?
* And anyone staying north as in towns like amk? And how r u coping w the daily traveling to n for school?
* Roughly how long u get to reach school n via which route?
* Am I rite to say from mrt to orchard n then bus 111 is the shortest route for the travel?
* Also, what time does the bell rings? My fear is gal receiving demerit points for being late..
