Just noticed that SOTA now has Junior Studios for all art forms. This appears to replace the previous Junior Academies. Anyone signing their kids for it?

My DD went for the Junior Academy in March 2013. If it is similar to JA, then definitely worth signing up your child for it if he or she is keen to audition for SOTA next year. It gives the child first hand experience in SOTA and there is certificate at the end of the course.

How much did u pay for the junior academy. Cheaper than JA?

          Hi balletmum,

How do you sign up your child for Junior Studios at SOTA? Is there a age or dance grade requirement?

My DS is going to SOTA next year. He is qualified to learn third language in MOELC. I heard the school time is very long in SOTA. Is it available to go to MOELC once a week? Any SOTA parents got child goes to MOELC? Can you share your experience? Thanks.

                        Hi all,

I am not a mummy but a sec 1 student currently in SCGS. Though SCGS is a one of the top schools in singapore, it has not really given me the \"space\" to develop my passion, art. So I'm thinking of transferring through visual arts to SOTA next year.
However, I have certain things I'm still quite unsure about.

                        1. Given that I am actually in the lowest class in SCGS, is it okay to go to SOTA? My PSLE score was only 226 and I have friends with scores of 250 and above who are already in SOTA. So what's the average scores of students there?

                        2. So far, I am not doing very well for my CA's and i doubt my SA's will be any better. For CA3, i scored B4s and B3s for History, Geography, Science and Chinese. The only As i got are for English-A1 and Math-A2. So is this mark range acceptable? Also, Chinese is my worst subject and the only reason i managed to clinch a B4 is because I was cast as the lead in a theatre segment for Chinese that accounted for 30% of CA3. So if not for that I would have failed chinese. (CA2 chinese D7) So I would like to know if its okay to not do so well for chinese...(heheh)

                        3. If I were to join through visual arts, are there other opportunities for me to experience other art forms? I actually enjoy singing alot and my current CCA is choir. So will there be chances for me to do dance and theatre and all the other art forms?

                        4. Lastly, I like my art but I'm not sure if it's actually up to standard. I have a strong passion for it. Yet I'm not even sure if I can get in. so here's a link to some of my art stuff...

Anyways, I hope some mummies and current students of SOTA can answer my queries. Thank You in advance šŸ˜„
Your work is simply amazing!!!! U shld have been in the AEP programme!!!u are truly gifted!!! I am not a SOTA mum... But i hope someone can help you...perhaps u can send your portfolio to SOTA directly?
