Power Puff:
Hi jetsetter, fancy meeting you here!jetsetter:
Or, forgo South View when DS is in P1. Buy property in Bishan (gasp!), gamble for CHS. Both will merge later in 2017 at Marymount...
Can you explain what you mean by \"both will merge... who are merging to be exact and at Marymount..which Marymount site are your referring to?\" Thanks.
:rahrah: *Wave to Power Puff*
Yes, I'm here too cos next yr's my turn to sweat lor... :xedfingers:
I meant Catholic High boys will merge with SCGS and St Nicks to form new JC in 2017, but prior to that IP will be offered to the 3 affiliated schs in their respective premises.
From sch website:
\"The new JC for our IP students will operate at an interim campus located at the current ITE College Central (Bishan Campus) from 2017 when our IP students enter Year 5. The interim campus will be fully furnished and equipped with the necessary resources for our IP students to benefit from an enriching IP curriculum. It will eventually be located along Sin Ming Avenue, near the junction of Marymount Road.\"

i don’t see much info about these two schools, doesn’t matter how i search.
request your help to guide me with/to more valid and recent info about the mentioned two schools in order to make this critical decision.
soonest help will be appreciated as decision help to make by tonight itself.
thanks in advance and regret if i’m asking ignorent questions. -
Hi,
My girl is due to register for P1 next year. We lived in the west area.
My hubby is an old boy from Taonan. If moving to the East is not an option, it is too much a hassle to travel from West to East and vice versa everyday right ?
But are there parents who are doing this ? ie. staying far from the school ?
The other options we have near home would be (under phase 2C):
1) Fairfield Methodist >1km<2km
2) Alexandra Pri >2km
3) Henry Park >1km <2km
4) New Town Pri <1km (not very keen)
5) Queenstown Pri >1km <2km (not keen either)
Any suggestions what should we do ?
TIA! -
Hi hi
I have a 4 year old daughter. She will be going to K1 next year and I will need to register her for primary school the year after. I’m currently thinking of two schools:
1) Holy Innocents’ Primary School
2) Paya Lebar Methodist Girls School (Primary)
We stay at Serangoon. I’m an old girl of Holy Innocents but I’m contemplating whether to sign up for PV for PLMGS as this school is nearer to where we stay. However, I’m not sure if I could commit 40 hours to do parent volunteering. Would appreciate fellow parents’ advise. Should I give up on the idea of doing PV at PLMGS and directly register my daugther in Holy Innocents’ Primary under phase 2A? Which is a better school - Holy Innocents or PLMGS?
Thanks -
HIPS is more heavily balloted than PLMGS at Phase 2B & 2C.
You have been to HIPS so how was your experience? If you loved your school, then just forget the PV trouble and go to Phase 2A.
You could also apply HIPS first at Phase 2A, then watch PLMGS at Phase 2C. If you live within 1km of PLMGS, you might have a chance to get in without balloting. By then, if it is confirmed there is no balloting, withdraw from HIPS and apply PLMGS if you still want to.

Hi all,
I will be shifting to Sengkang West and am considering the primary schools in the area for my DD who is going to primary 1 in 2015.
Need feedbacks on the following primary school in that area.
1) Fernvale Primary School
2) SengKang Green Primary
3) Anchor Green Primary
4) Springdale Primary
Hope for Nan Chiao but heard chances slim if more than 1 km
Any advice?
Thanks in advance… -
RitzMum:
Hi , I am new to this website. I am currently staying in Bedok and is considering the following school :
1) Red swastika (within 1km)
2) temasek primary ( 1-2km)
I would like to be a PV. Any suggestion on which school ?
Really v stressful after reading all the feedback on these 'hot' schools .
Help needed on : which school is better ? Which school is tougher to get in ? If I become a PV , what are my chances in getting a place in the school ?
Hi RitzMum. Sounds like we may be from the same area. My girl is in K2, so it's too late for PV. If you like to discuss further PM me - it's my 1st time on this forum too, hopefully I can find your PM/msg ;o)
Ps. my 1st choice is RS, as the risk for Temasek is higher due to distance (1-2km).

My DD is 4 years old and will be going to P1 in 2016. My DS is currently in SHSS Sec 1. I tried to apply for PV at SHPS but was not successful. Additionally i am also looking at moving closer to within 1km of SHPS. Is this a good idea or should i change tact like moving to other schools instead? Really stressful!
