Radin Mas Primary

Yesterday my DS told me that they were asked to stay in library to wait for the school bus, and not allowed to touch any books even reading books r not allowed.

Let kids bring some food, bread etc, my DS reachs home 3pm every day, the canteen is closed after 1:30pm. -
I got to know there is some parents group for class, would like to know anyone parent from 2D knows about this?
-
I thot there is some story telling and program whilst waiting for the upper primary.

Children use to wait at the foyer, now I heard at the library.Still not allowed to eat. My kid comes home at 2.50pm starving everyday.
What time does your child break for recess?
I think you need to feedback to the school regarding this. In fact, if more P1/P2 parents raise their concerns, the school will more likely take action, right? -

Any idea what will be presented during the parent's briefing in Feb other than meeting the form teacher/principal?
The principal will probably talk about the general performance of the school's PSLE results last year and the overall focus of the school in terms of their programs, etc.
The form teacher will talk about the marks allocation for the subjects. This is an ideal platform for parents to meet up with the various subject teachers, since the school has done away with 1-to-1 PTM. However, the school (somehow) \"forgets\" to ensure that all subject teachers are available on that day. So, it depends on your luck whether you are able to get as much information as you want on that day. -
Thanks Monitor..
we can't make it on that day..probably will squeeze some time to volunteer for class outings to have '1-to-1 meeting' with FT...haha -

I don't have the time time table yet. Heard that the recess is around 10am. I have already given feedback since the 1st day of school. It will be good if other parents can help to feedback on this too.princessaurora:

Yes, if you have the time, this is a better way to get to know the form teacher. On the PTM day, many parents will want to speak to the teachers but time is so limited.
BTW, some teachers will share with parents their methods of teaching certain subjects during the PTM. -
Where do the students wait at 1.30 pm? If it is at the foyer, perhaps parents can give their children some biscuits? Not advisable to allow the students to buy food from the canteen as it will likely cause more delay.[/quote]

The kids have to ensure hunger from 1030am to 2.50pm (Round up to 3pm) which is almost 4 hours if they were on the school bus. Yes maybe more parents can feedback to the school to look into it, perhaps the same dismissal time. :imconstipated: -

How does synchronising disimissal time help in the problem? The kids will still have to endure hunger from 10.30 am to 2.50 pm since they can only be dismissed at 2 pm.
If you are talking about dimissal time at 1.30 pm for all students, you have to take into consideration the following issues:
1. It implies that the P3s to P6s will have to stay back one day for their CCAs. This extra half an hour per day from Monday to Thursday adds up to two hours, which is equivalent to the time students spent on CCAs per week.
2. If everyone were to dismiss at 1.30 pm, situation would be very, very chaotic at the side gate. It would be even worse on rainy days.
P2 parents, how did your children cope with the late dismissal on Tuesdays and Thursdays last year?
As for the P1s, yes, it takes some getting used to.
