Cos the canteen does not operate in the afternoon so those P1 kids will either signed up for the catering services or bring their own food. The teacher will send the menu before the end of the sch term and see if you are keen to sign up for next term. I noted that most of time, the caterer does not stick to the daily menu..and so I have to prepare some snacks for backup. I do think the caterer provides variety of selection - from western food like pasta to oriental food like fishball soup. Friday menu is my gals' fav cos they usu will have muffin, cakes, waffles stuff. Each meal include fruits (usu apple, honeydew, watermelon) and each set cos $1.30.Hi Guppy,
What is this catered food for P1 you mentioned ? Is it meant for recess ?
My daughter is rather fussy with food, but I'm curious about this catered food you mentioned. If possible, I would like to take a look myself.
Oh yes, does your daughter wear a pair of shorts under her pinafore everyday ? I remember doing that (even on days when there was no PE) because my classmates were very naughty and love to lift up other girls' pinafores.
I insisted my gals to wear shorts under the pinafore..as they do sit on the floor sometimes. And sometimes, gals can get rowdy when they play, it will be unsightly to expose their panties to others.
The sch PE shorts can quite hot at times..so I bought those cotton boxer shorts for my gals. -

I agree..PM session is very tiring for the kids too...my gals said sometimes they feel drowsy in the afternoon.Babyfeet,
I really really hope MOE allows P1 to be in the morning session, then my child can get her work done in the afternoon and have the evening free. I still remember those 2 years when my boy was in the afternoon session (P1/2). Time was so tight...homework at night and revision in the morn and rush to have lunch as well.
Now my P2 gal is in the AM session...I have more time to go through her sch work with her.. -
Bebe,
So this catered food is just for P1 because they are in the afternoon session. Do we parents pay at the start of each term ? Do the gals get the food before recess or still have to queue ?
My daughter must have her afternoon sleep or she will be very grouchy. I really hope MOE allows P1 to go morning session since itβs the ONLY level in the afternoon session now. I was surprised when my friend told me her daughter was in morning session since P2.

Hi Mummies,
I sent an email to MOE regarding P1 in the afternoon session.
Hope to receive a favourable reply ie MOE allows the school to have P1-6 in the morning session.

Dear Mummies,
I received an email from Mrs Tan, the principal of IJ TP.
All the gals who register this year will be in the morning session in 2011. I'm so relieved because my daughter will have time in the afternoon to rest and get her work done. :rahrah: -
Janet, so happy for you that your wish has come true. Can go & celebrate CNY in full force

Yes...the catered food is only for P1 students as the canteen does not operate in the afternoon. Payment will be made before the end of the previous term, with the menu provided.Bebe,

From what I understand, the gals will have to queue and collect the food in the canteen.
Just read the latest post that you have received confirmation from Mrs Tan and IJ will go single session next year..not sure if the catering service will be ceased then. -
thank you for checking it out! now i have to try hard to get in! haha
-
Honey,
Receiving that piece of good news from Mrs Tan personally was a wonderful feeling
.
Many mummies told me Phase 2A2 is more or less guaranteed a place there. Now I don't have to worry about weaning off my daughter's afternoon nap later this year.
Can enjoy CNY :rahrah: -
Just to update, for CCA bus, $1 is only for Toa Payoh Area. And they do have package price if your girl is taking more than once a week.
