Hi, ds said that there’ll be a carnival in school on Fri., and the money ($2-3, according to a note from his teacher) will be used for purchases at the carnival. Anybody knows more about it?

Oh, is it a "tradition"? Are the older kids in charge of the stalls?

I thought it will be PVs? Or those vendors? I am not too sure either but I recall that in the temporary holding site, I saw those external vendor selling the stuff to the kids (eg. ice cream man?)

Guess it doesn’t matter who would be selling. The kids would surely be delighted by the variety of "junk" food available–an early start to CNY binge-ing! Gong Xi Fa Cai to all!

I remember my kids telling me the queue was so long for the candy floss last year. Don’t remember many stalls last year, but it might be different this year since this is the 1st CNY celebration at the new compound.

Ds just shared that ice cream and pop corns would be available. No prize for guessing what he'll be buying 😉 Will try to \"dig\" more info from him tomorrow

                        MMM:
My son was in Miss Lim's class last year and after 1 experience of being punished as he forgot to bring his color pencils, he has learnt his lessons  Seeing his friends get punished for certain behaviours also made him \"aspire\" to behave well  Personally, I think it's good as it instills discipline though some parents might feel that it's old thinking/ teaching and how can they torture my kids

The school has recently introduced a new initiative called 'My Reflections'. It has columns for the child to fill something like 'What did I do wrong'; 'Who did I affect'; 'How did I affect them'; etc. 😉

I know because my P3 girl recently got one that she needed to fill in for forgetting to bring her textbooks a few times. And parents need to sign. I thot it was a good initiative (maybe not be a new one but I only just see it this year). We had a good laugh at it and now she is quite diligent in packing her bag. 😄
