Secondary School Chinese

I just checked with Popular. They don’t have the Chinese version of Totto Chan. Any idea where I can get a copy?

You try Popular @ Bras Brasah ? They have wide collection of chinese books there. If not, those bookshops in Bras Brasah. -
is it 窗前的小豆豆 or 窗边的小豆豆 ?
Coincidentally, I ordered 窗边的小豆豆 from dangdang. Order still on the way to Singapore, I hope it won't be out-of-stock. I was ordering other books for my primary school kid and I thought 窗边的小豆豆 looks interesting - so it is required text for our Secondary 1 ?
Anyway, I'll suggest call up Kinokuniya Chinese department or Popular customer service and give them the ISBN. If they don't stock, ask whether they can order for you :

Well done! You spotted the difference.is it 窗前的小豆豆 or 窗边的小豆豆 ?
I searched for 窗前的小豆豆 and hit a lot of China web sites, hence did not notice the difference even when I was reading from the URL ks2me provided. cafelatte:
How did you pay for your purchase at dangdang? Did you use a credit card issued in Singapore or ...?Coincidentally, I ordered 窗边的小豆豆 from dangdang.

There is a forummer named KSP. To answer yours and SoWoW's questions, we teach our kids everything except English Language. But we did put them through one year of Chinese tuition at Jiang Education when they were in primary school. DS managed to move up to B3 last year but he is pretty inconsistent as can be seen from my earlier posts.
I am trying to follow some of Daisyt's recommendations. Her DD is really strong at Chinese and I think she does not go for tuition. Daisyt, am I right? -
Anyone organising a spree to purchase this book? Not sure whether i am doing the right thing. I had decided to coach my ds sec 1 chinese this year. i get him to read to me, do 5 chinese word test, i started with these 2 daily. Guess this is not enough, i cant just throw a testpaper for him to do, he will reject and will too difficult for him to complete within 1 hr.

hi parents, do u agree that if the child decides to pursue studies in Poly (instead of JC), then the child should just take normal Chinese and not Higher Chinese in secondary. reasons:
1. HCL helps to get 2 bonus pts to JC, but no help for admission to Poly
2. for HCL pupils, they take O level Chinese at sec 3 mid yr, whereas, normal Chinese pupils have more time to prepare for the subject as they take the exam only at sec 4 yr end with the rest of the subjects.
3. normal Chinese pupils are allowed to take the exam twice.
R these true, pls comment. thanks in advance
