Alexandra Primary

Hi, fellow parents with children in Alexandra Primary school. I am a dad of 2 boys. My elder son is going to primary school next year.


I am residing at Jalan Membina. It is very near to Zhangde Primary school ( 100m from the school ) and within 1 km from Alexandra Primary school.

I am now in a dillema whether I should register my son for Alexandra Primary School or Zhangde Primary school for 2015 intake next month.

I have heard some good reviews of the Alexandra Primary school from the neighbours and from the online postings. May I check with the parents here on their experience with the school thus far ? What are the CCAs offered by the school ? etc.

Going to Zhangde would be really convenient since it is only a short walk while going to Alexandra Primary would mean taking school bus. May I check with the parents here on approximately what time in the morning the school bus pick up the kids from Jalan Membina and also the time it drops them off at Jln Membina after school ? Also what is the school bus fees like per month ?

If you were me, which school would you choose ?

I believe Alexandra Primary school would not need balloting for Sg Citizen kids residing within 1 Km while there may be balloting for Zhangde Primary School ( although very good chance for those within 1 km ).

tiongbahru dad, if i were you, i would reg on last day. monitor the Zhangde 2C taken rate as of last day morning and see if they require balloting for your distance. If high chance to ballot for ZD, i would go APS since it's quite safe for 1-2km SC under APS...transport is not cheap for APS, for time being. even near distance..as I am parent from APS :p..but to me, APS is really not bad as of term 3 now

Hi, I am waiting to register my girl in APS. Can someone share with me about Pro-teach student care service? Anyone knows about their criteria in getting a place in the student care & the charges like. Appreciate that.

Hi Murri,

Based on last year's registration, balloting was required for PR within 1km for the remaining approx 15 vacancies. Most parents of existing ALPS students predict that this year, PR might not stand a chance. Do monitor your chance on last day P2C registration. Good Luck!

Are they experienced teachers (taught in other primary schools before but transferred over this new school to teach), or are they mostly fresh young inexperienced graduates, newly trained, just come out fresh from NIE ?

From Phase 2B to 2C Supplementary -
Only SG citizenship & PR children can enrol.

If your child is a foreigner -
You come under Phase 3.

But Alexandra primary was already full house last year, before Phase 3.
No chance for foreigners.

Go for the one, where you do not need to ballot : can enrol your child safely, on the last day of Phase 2C.
