      Sunshinedragon:
Any parents here have infor for P6 students taking PSLE in 2015 on the DSA?

I'm clueless on this DSA thing.
If you intend to DSA IP schools, you can start http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=78374

        Thank you soseducation and nebbermind!

My girl has been aiming for Nanyang Girls and she is working really hard towards her goal. She topped her level for P4 and got one A and 3 A* for P5. Just wondering if this is good enough to apply for DSA academic.

Hi I am asking a silly question here but just want to confirm my guesses.

My boy who is taking PSLE in 2015 is interested to get into a SAP sch but his CL is mediocre and he does not take HCL. Is it true it is compulsory to take HCL when you enter a SAP sec sch or there are various options available?

            Thank you.

Hmm, DSA is very competitive. I have students who get A* for all the subjects, get gold for maths olympiad, and still didn't get through DSA.Unless she has been winning prestigious awards, I would recommend her to choose nanyang when she gets her PSLE results. Less stress after all, as DSA is quite stressful to apply as well with the limited slots and she can channel her energy towards excelling for PSLE. Can see that your child is motivated and I wish her all the best :rahrah:

1The mission of Special Assistance Plan (SAP) schools is to nurture bilingual and bicultural students who are steeped in Chinese language and culture. Over the years, SAP schools have nurtured a core group of citizens who are bilingual and bicultural, as part of our efforts to develop a deeper appreciation of cultural values and heritage.

2The SAP schools have also been effective in cultivating students’ interest in Chinese language-related studies, in grooming cultural transmitters (e.g. Lianhe Zaobao journalists) and language specialists (e.g. Chinese language teachers) for the Chinese community in Singapore.

I was from a SAP school and honestly, chinese is relatively important in order to fully benefit from the system there. The students will learning chinese calligraphy, chinese culture etc. Some schools like River Valley, Dunman, Hwa chong, Nanyang, HCL is compulsory. But I think if the students don’t do well, they will be forced to drop to CL. For other SAP schools, there will be an option to choose HCl or CL.

Can anyone recommend where to find out a list of past PSLE Compo questions (both English and MT (Chinese) - both normal and higher) and where to find a list of Compo topics? Preferably online.

                    Tx!

I haven't heard anything about a change in the curriculum! Is there any MoE web page you can link to for more info?

If nothing, I just want to applaud your kiasu-ness in starting this thread. 🙂 So hopefully my post will give the thread a bump.

Hi, would appreciate comments or recommendation on Maths and Science tuition. My son is currently in P5 (2014) and next year is P6 (2015). I stay at the East.

A friend recommended MindStretcher for Maths and Science tuition. Reading the comments online, I would like to look at other option.
