Hi, my DS scored 242 (no HMT). Please advise on his choice of school as follows:


1. Chung Cheng High Main (241)
2. Nan Chiau High (242)
3. Marist Stella High (236)
4. Xinmin (235)
5. Zhonghua (234)
6. Presbyterian High (233)

What are the chances of getting his first first choice?

Your choice of sch is all good to go and you won't have any problem with it as your choices is not a risk taker type. You will get your 1st choice sch.

For reference, here are different aggregate scores from my own students and a reliable source for 2 A stars and 2 As: 238, 247, 254

How likely is 2 A stars, 1 A and 1 B able to achieve 269? I believe very unlikely.

Really need some advise on the school selection. My boy got 235 in his psle and we live in Jurong West. These are our options:

1) Commonwealth (238)
2) Maris Stella High (236)
3) Zhong Hua Sec (234) The distance is pretty far and we are in a dilemma if this shd be our 3rd choice
4) Fuhua Sec (232)
5) Clementi Town (232)
6) Jurong Sec (227)

I seriously need some advise if our choice is correct. Appreciate your advises. Thanks!

Can consider Swiss Cottage 239 too! Went for their Open House! Impressive with the way the students carry themselves. Very confident!
And best of all walking distance from Bukit Gombak mrt!

Having read all of your posts, I would really appreciate if you can help share your thoughts on my DS’ intended choice of schools. His score is 252+2.

ACS(I) - IB
RVHS
Victoria (IP)
Catholic High (IP)
SJI (IB)

What do you think of the choices and the order. Also do you think we should also put ACS(I) O level just in case?

ACS(I) IB would be borderline. Depends on this year’s COP movement. RVHS should be quite safe. If you don’t get ACS you are most likely to get RVHS.

If you are nearer to RVHS, I think it is better to go RVHS, unless you have issues with the more Chinese culture of the school, since it is a SAP school.

My son scored 252+1, with 2 A star and 2 A.

My son get 254+2, if he choose

1. ACS -IB
2. ACS - O
3. Catholic high -O
4. St Joseph - O
5. Anderson - O

Do you think he will has a good chance to get in ACS IB ? Or just put ACS O as his first choice…he is aiming to go IB, any advice?

Can someone advise what is chemistry SPA, Physics SPA and Biology SPA mean in some school selection blooklet. May I know are they consider as pure science. How to differentire whether the science the school offered is pure science? Thanks a lot.
