If any top school to be must have a full track and field then how come the NYPS does not even have one ? Their field is a triangle and the triangular track is even less than 300 meters β¦ talk about fairness

sala already... it is usually some secondary schools and JC that has track and field. If primary has, it is already a bonus. So if NYPS has something, it is already a bonus.
And another logic issue...NYPS is a top school because it has all these coveted facilities, not because it is top school, it should have such facilities. -

NYPS is only a primary school, They more concerned with older students like at JC level or Upper Secondary 3 / 4 students -

:scratchhead:  Referring to top sec sch or JC? I think only a handful of \"rich\" pri schs have full track and field and mostly have sec affiliation....... -

This point puzzles me.If day 1 they were told holding site would be at Mt Sinai while building the Bishan site, there might not be an issue...everyone went in with their eyes open.
However, they were told Bishan ITE was the holding site. Some people might have moved their residences to Bishan thinking everything is happening in Bishan...the sacrifices might have involved uprooting some other people in the family.
When it was first announced that the 3 schs will go IP and go to a newly formed JC, there was no official statement about the location of the new JC, whether interim or permanent.
But parents said they have been told, hearsay, etc etc it will be at Bishan, prior to 2014. But by whom? When? On what occasion?
The IP route is open to all eligible students, not just students fr the 3 feeder schs. Any decision on the location of the new JC will hv to be made known to all. There probably was some plan to locate it at Bishan but it wasn't official.
If it was announced at each sch's Open House or whatever occasion, then you can only hold the school accountable for releasing unofficial info ahead of MOE.
Let's not lump the situation for Yr 1-3 all together. We can say only the current Yr 1s went in \"with their eyes open\". The rest took a calculated risk of going to a new JC.
While we don't belong to the group of directly \"affected\" parents, i believe we are not here to jeer and sneer at the situation which has unfolded. Rather it was to offer another point of view that the Mt Sinai site is not such a bad alternative as it is perceived to be. After all, the starter of this thread said this thread is \"devoted to discussion of the delay in building of the new JC\".
I apologise if i have offended anyone when i got annoyed when all means was taken to prove that you can't walk fr Buona Vista to Mt Sinai within 10 mins, that the MOE was wrong about saying Mt Sinai site was within walkable distance fr Buona Vista MRT.
Give and take. The principles of forgiveness and forbearance is universal and transcends all. This is nothing insulting to our forefathers. -

What do you not understand about \"cream of the cream\"? Perhaps, no wonder you don't know where Bukit Timah is.[/quote]
Wah I didn't realize Tg Rhu, Marine Parade, Anderson Road are all in Bukit Timah. Must be GE coming they redraw the boundary againpirated:

I said most, I didn't say all top schools. Those schools you quoted: HCI, NYGH, NJC, VJC, Dunman High, Anderson..... Isn't it true the cream of the cream are indeed all along Bukit Timah?
not true la...r u referring to Primary School?
Deep down, after 50 yrs of independence, we should all know \"creme de la creme\" is at Mount Pek San, but just so some creme happened to get spilled over to N S E W, if they don't want to carry heavy bags, take MRT and walk under the sweltering sun. The reason why \"creme de la creme\" was built there was becos it absorbs creme de la creme from all walks of life, so it must be centrally located, not benefitting just the rich/elite in Mount Tin. This is the same reason why the Anderson one must move to a Central location too, to be fair to all commuters. -

The refurbishment won't be extensive. The Mt Senai site has been the same white color since the time of temporary holding location for NUS high school, Henry park primary, Dunman High and now RGPS. Don't think anyone added or torn down any building in the campus. So I doubt they will spent a lot of money to rebuild it for Bishan JC. :skeptical:
Aiya, the retrofitting is also meant for future use for other schoolsphtthp:
the word \"Extensive\" somehow give us a feeling maybe got intention to park the 17 / 18 year old teenagers at Mount Sinai, for a longer period of time beyond 2019 : including new subsequent batches of IP students, while \"ding dong\" stuff going on inside other ministries.
Since moe started the PRIME program they need a few sites permanently as holding site for whichever school undergoing PRIME. It is not just for the no name JC for one off use. -
I was under the impression that the Anderson road one to move to the central location was to facilitate spouse hunting via a tunnel under the road β¦ ε°δΈζ

It has been good enuf for those illustrious JC who used the premises. Nothing wrong
