All About Primary Schools' Balloting History

Hi,
My boy is born in 2010 and my girl is born in 2012.
If St Gabriel stands a good chance without a need to ballot, do you think I should go ahead.
My main concern is as my girl is born in the year of dragon and I am afraid it will be very competitive when her time comes. I'm also considering should I just enrolled my boy into Yang Zheng so that it will be easier for my girl's enrolment.
Please advise.
Are you within 1km of Yangzheng? If not, it's not a sure in right?
Let's say you enrol your boy in St Gabriel and 2 years after enrol your girl in Yangzheng, 1) girl may not get in since its dragon year, 2) you need to stay extra 30 months in the same address.
Since its dragon year for your girl, my opinion is to go for Yangzheng now. It's to secure a place for her. From what I know, Yangzheng is a much more sought after school in Serangoon than St Gabriel. -
mashy, thank you thank you. Yes we are within 1km from YZPS

Appreciate some advise. Shld i try cath high first? -

No need to think. If you use your MIL's address which is within 1km, they will take it as 1-2km, so no chance to ballot.Hi there...

Is it possible to make arrangement to stay put in your MIL's place for 30 months? If she allows, you can change your address and then, you will be eligible for 2B within 1km.Hi there...

Phase 2B less than 1 km : SC ballot
if Spiratio change his IC address to mother in law address (less than 1 km), stay minimum 30 months period :
still need to ballot in P2B, but there is a fighting chance to get in CHS, affliated to Secondary for "O" level.
The house belong to mil, 30 months is up to end of Primary 2 (not a long period, not up to P6) : if can, go for it !
but if Spiratio does not change his IC address, but use his mother’s address, it fall under (1 to 2 km) category : then zero chance to ballot in P2B, a great pity -
Spiratio,
Yes, agree with phttph, great pity! Especially you have two sons.
I think it’s still worth trying for Cath High in 2B. If fail to ballot in, then go for St Gab in phase 2C. Chances of getting into St Gab very, very high for phase 2C (based on last year history). So don’t waste your 2B. -
Hi. Does anyone know when the rule for absolute priority for Singaporeans was implemented? And was the allocation of at least 40 places for phase 2B and 2C was implemented since 2014?
I’m planning to apply in phase 2C and I want to know if there the changes I’ve noticed in the balloting history data is due to the changes in the rules for primary school registration.
It’s difficult to tell if the changes will increase the chances of getting my kid the school that I have shortlisted. -

The citizen rule was implemented in 2012. The 40 reserved places in 2014. If you are citizen and not an alumni, both rules will improve your chances of getting a place in any school.Hi.
