Hi, jtoh,
There's no need to have taken Chem RA in upper sec to take Chem RA in JC. In my daughter's year there were students switching to different RAs in JC from what they had taken in upper sec.jtoh:
Does one need to be in chem ra in RGS before taking chem ra in jc?
Or one can swtich from humanities RA in RGS when they are in jc to do Chem RA?
Thanks.
Is it a lot of students to apply the RA chemistry ? What is advantage for taking RA chemistry ? As there is no humanity RA at JC, as my girl still not too sure whether she need to apply or not as it need two years commitment. Anyway the exam is after the o level higher Chinese.
Yes, there are quite a number of applicants trying out for Chem RA in JC. You would cover more of the subject in terms of depth and breadth, so that gives you some advantage at A levels I suppose, and at securing an H3 subject. But you don't need to take RA to do well at A levels and take an H3 subject. It is more a matter of your interest in the subject. -

Any idea how many students are accepted to take RA in the various subjects? -

I honestly can't remember now. About one class each or at most 1-2 classes for some subjects.jtoh:

Your daughter will be taking A levels this year? All the best to her! Mine is looking forward to new experiences next year. The 2.5yrs in RGS has passed very fast.slmkhoo:

OK, thanks! That's quite few compared with Yrs 3-4 where I believe each school would have more than that per subject. -

Hello - Any parent/ child with experience in the Special Arts Programme (SAP)?
How does one apply to join? Is a portfolio needed? And how will joining SAP impact the A levels ie.. is this a subject which can replace a Humanities subject?
Thanks for the sharing!
