Although my son achieved above mean marks for Eng Science and Chinese. The hard work we put in is terrible. Maths marks same as average mean mark.of p3 cohort. St hildas has affiliation to.Secondary school. Only need to.do psle score 188 to qualify. Buying insurance in case psle score is not good. We are only at p3, not sure his ability at p6. Tao Nan.is very very stressful. Kills interest t to learn at young age. I mean my own drilling and drilling.

your son had successfully transferred into St Hilda already, from Tao Nan ?

if not yet transferred in -
but if your son happen to have a Cca currently from Tao Nan and is also something that St Hilda is very strong in (that means their Cca happen to coincide) , then the chance of your son's Transfer is ... very high

first, find out which Cca are St Hilda strong in ?

My child was transferred to St Hilda's many years ago when in P3. I have to share with you that St Hilda's life will have stress too! The papers for math and science here are challenging too. And my understanding from friend, the cut off point for affiliation is around 195 to 200. Though we have affiliation, I have always encourage my child to do well and not rely on affiliation. And my child has also express no intention to go to its affiliated school. There are some friends of my child who have the mindsets of they can rely on affiliation, their attitudes towards learning is could not be bother hence it will not push them to excel. Our reason for transferred to St Hilda's was not because of affiliation but to provide a better learning environment for the child. My child has enjoyed the 3.5 years with St Hilda' and we are thankful to the school's principal to select my child out of the long waiting list to be part of the Hildan's family.

                Dear phhtp and Sunflower mummy,

                Thank you for your replies.
My son has not been given a place in St Hilda’s yet.
I will bear in mind your advice and am thankful for it.
Glad to hear that your child had a good experience for transfer to St Hilda’s .

                  Hi All,

My DS is in P3 this year and being selected into the GEP Programme. He is not interested to join the GEP (probably he prefers a carefree life) but would like to transfer to St Hilda’s Pri to have a slightly more challenging environment than the present school. Is it possible to ask for transfer but reject the GEP Programme? Will St Hida’s based on his GEP selection and agree to the transfer? Kindly advise.

Hi! My daughter also got into GEP. Just wondering what St Hilda’s is like. Do the students enjoy school? Do they like the teachers? These are my main concerns as I want my kids to enjoy gong to school. My girl is from Haig Girls’ and we really like the school culture and the teachers there.

I heard that student life in Tao Nan is not very enjoyable. So my girl die die don’t want to go there even though it is really near us. And when I read Mum Needs Advice’s comments about Tao Nan, it confirmed my thoughts about the school. We need to choose a coed school as I have a 5 year old boy. So it’s st Hilda’s or Rosyth.

for your question, only Principal of St Hilda primary can answer you : whether or not to offer your son, a place in P4 Mainstream.

P will definitely ask your son during interview, why don't he give GEP programme, a try ?
If he don't try, he never know.
Perhaps after trying, your son enjoy the programme so much, like it so much 🙂

when you attend interview, also be mentally prepared to answer the question posed by P : why don't u (as parent) support your son emotionally, encourage him to try the GEP programme ?
school will definitely encourage children who clear 2 round of Gep screening to take up the GEP offer, unless parents have special reasons to decline offer
