hi there,I registered at westwood primary yesterday morning..as of 1030 am,was 83 applicants(sc 1km include online)..they state the breakdowns..after I fill up a form,I have to go to the counter whereby the staff there will register for me again thru their computer system and also.photocopy all my original documents...the staff there told me if.balloting required and im unsuccessful,I have to go back to the school and withdraw and then wait for the next phase and register for another school..is it like that?? :scared:
If you are not successful in any Phase, you remain unregistered. There is no need to withdraw your application from the previous school. Just go to the next available school and register there for the next Phase. But if you are really interested in the previous school, you should put your child's name on its waiting list. I have known several cases where parents get called up in December with good news.
ouh really??but thats by luck right?it will not.guarantee that right?

This is Phase 2C. Letters from SHHK do not apply. And the demand for Nan Chiau in earlier Phases is certainly lower than historical average. This year's Phase 2C is an anomaly, but having to ballot for SC<1km is certainly something to be expected. The question is only the odds of winning the ballot.Did SHHK over-issue letters to members? Yes, not SAP but still 'branded' in SK cos it was also founded by Tan Kah Kee.
<1 km (Compass One) has MANY HDB units with young families. -

My sibling submitted online e-application for NCPS on Tuesday 26/7. Today, 28/7 gotta apply urgent leave to withdraw from NCPS and reapply in another primary school today in order to avoid the mad last min rush tomorrow. Confirm many parents will apply last min. Told my sibling to use brain think.sembgal:
Nan Chiau Primary has SMS to inform parents who live more than 1km to withdraw.
:rahrah: Kudos to this school for taking to step to inform parents who are living > 1 km to withdraw so as not to waste their chance to register for their children under Phase 2C even though they do not need to. This is done purely out of goodwill.
The ball is now in the court of those affected parents. At least they have a chance to respond before Phase 2C registration is over.

Lower than usual take up (or more than the usual number of vacancies available) so far due to the Tiger Year may have encouraged a lot of parents, who might otherwise not have the appetite to ballot, to apply. Plus, online registration on Day 0 allows parents to put their names into the hat first, then look / see later. Day 1 thus reports this exceptional gathering of applicants in the, as usual, popular schools.
Day 2 and 3 will probably see some traffic shifting into the other schools from parents not willing to tikam or from parents between 1km to 2km who thought that they saw an opening that no others had seen (wishful thinking)

I really don't understand why there are so many fighting over this school, is it as good as a SAP or a GEP school?
It's just due to the number of young families living around the area. What I don't understand is why Sengkang Green is so much more popular than Springdale given that they were both new schools set up at the same time (2012).
I just went SKG, it almost hit 300 applicants today at 11am!! Woahh!! Shocking!!!ginkonutty:
Anyone has any updates on Sengkang Green Primary School - how many are registered for less than 1km?
First day already have 254 registered for the school.
:scared: -
Anyone with word on Ngee Ann Primary School (NAPS)?

ChiefKiasu:

Again, I suspect geographical reasons come into play. Within 1km are all the BTOs and ECs that had popped up over the last 5 years. Definitely many children of school going age. If distance is a priority, there isn't many options <1km for the folks around Punggol Green: Punggol View - likely to ballot as well, Punggol Cove - new school, Compassvale - across the highway and not easy to get to.
Hi, I'm newbie in this group. Would appreciate feedback on Punggol Green Primary School. As I know the school is relatively very new (est in 2013) but it seems to be hot pick in Punggol area. There was balloting last year, this year after the 1st day already oversubscribed. My house is just in front of the school so naturally it is my first choice but now I'm scared cannot get in too. :shock:socobojq:

Which alternative choice is good too?
TIA
Most folks may have decided that it's worthwhile to ballot <1km before attempting the other newer schools nearby which are seeing less demand (Edgefield, Punggol Cove, Oasis). However, I suspect there will be some movement today and tomorrow from those with weaker stomach to apply at Punggol Cove (accessible by the same LRT loop). That would be my suggestion for those not willing to ballot and prefer to secure a place at 2C.
Just called up Punggol Green and status of <1km is 234
