As your kid is a snake baby, apply for pv in chongfu this year when the application opens and see if you are selected, then you can worry about your dilemma later.
I thought Chongfu is affiliated to SHHK and all PVs have to go through the clan before they qualify for P2B? Does Chongfu still take in PVs itself in addition to those from the clan? Anyway, if it is a popular school, something is not right if it hasn't opened its PV registration when the P1 registration is just next year, right? :scratchhead:
Chongfu is the only SHHK school that still takes in PV, so those PV selected by the school do not have to go through the clan. Yes the PVs are in addition to those from the clan, hence they try to keep the numbers small.
My bad, you are right, the pv application for the snake babies should be this year, not next year. I was confused. Thanks for pointing it out! -

come dragon year, horse year and significant ones like SG50, there are more babies born. This being dragon year batch :
maybe schools in Phase 2C Supp, also need to ballot intensively
it's good to do your homework for schools which fall under 2C supplementary. Have a back up plan. All the best. -
This batch of students here (born in Year 2012, Dragon year):-
Will enrol for P1 Registration, in the month of 2018 July, starting 2019 Primary 1 schooling.
But, come 2019 (January, Term 1) :-
7 primary schools will go down in history, due to merging.
After merging, the names of these 7 schools will disappear, from the radar of primary schools.
Government have yet to announce, what she intend to do with these seven shut-down schools' facilities, going forward.
MOE (April 2017) announcement.
These 7 primary schools, shutting down (or merging), shifting over to their new, respective merged-partner's school to continue study, are :-
1. Balestier Hill primary
2. Coral primary
3. Da Qiao primary
4. East Coast primary
5. East View primary
6. Loyang primary
7. Macpherson primary

Hi all,
I am new to this group.
My #1 is born in 2012. We lived in Woodlands, I am looking for primary school for him.
I got to know from my friends about chongfu, but chongfu has close its PV. If we would like to enrol my boy into the school, we will need to join HKHK.
Is there any recommendation of schools in the north or in Woodlands to Yishun?
Thanks a lot
:thankyou: -

There are many schools around that area. You just need to know your preference. Since you're most probably eligible only in Phase 2C, watch out for schools with balloting, if you want to lower your risk. But if you're a risk taker and you live within the eligible distance (like <1km from the school), then go ahead and join the fun. You just need to prepare a backup school for Phase 2C Sup if you are balloted out in Phase 2C.Hi all,

Hello Parents! feeling disheartened that I missed the PV application for both Hong Wen and CHIJ our lady queen of peace. We are afiliated to methodist school but the odds of getting a seat in MGS under 2B is only near 50%. Since we are staying in Boon Keng now, in order to increase the odds we will need to make major decision to move to 1KM from MGS. Considering the risk, we have decided to give it a miss. I am only left with last PV application with St Margaret primary and is pending for the application result.
Does anyone knows inidicatively, what is the probability of successful application and when will the result be released?
Feeling lost...... :?: -
Correct me if Iām wrong but PV duties are gonna start in late Jun/early July. At this point, PV application results are still not made known?
-
For SMGS I dont think so as the application form indicates that the application has to be submitted latest by 01 Jul 17 while schools like Hong Wen and CHIJ Lady queen of Peace registration closed end April 17.

The Os mom:
I think there's no harm trying for MGS in Phase 2B, if the turnout rate is similar to last year whereby you get to ballot as you're > 2km. You can still register for St Margaret in Phase 2C without any needs to do PV.Hello Parents! feeling disheartened that I missed the PV application for both Hong Wen and CHIJ our lady queen of peace. refer to page 11 of 17 of the PDF
birth in 2012 = 42,663 (our ballot)
birth in 2011 = 39,654 (for July 2017 ballots)
birth in 2012 = 37,967 (you can use last years balloting results as a benchmark for our year)
conclusion.... assuming status quo... competition at popular schools will be more intense.
haiz............
i am also thinking of shifting house.
