My feel is that with the changes to Dsa (IP sch capped at 35% max and o level sch upped from 5% to 20%), this will have impact on the cop accordingly and if esis is really 258, it means top 3% cutoff is 258 then maybe TOP sch cop may drop more than 3 points?
ESIS is 260, which is slightly lower than last year.
Given that the top 20 schools has COP > or = 250, doubt that their COP will drop that drastically. The top pupils are still fighting among themselves while everyone else waits for the dust to settle. -

snowmummy, I'm pretty sure he will get into his #1 school. Congrats!!!DS got 261 + 2, I’m planning for the following choices:
1. RI
2. Hwa Chong
3. ACS (independent)
4. Dunman high
5. Victoria
6. Temasek JC
Greatly appreciate your advices on the above choices. Is the sequence of choices alright? And most likely which school will he get?
Thanks a lot in advance!!! -

Do you know if there is any other schools having such info day today? Thanks!NJCMGS:
DS has scored 254. What would be chances for ACS (I) IB? Any feedback on SJI (IB program) is also welcome!
Hello NJCMGS,
https://www.sji.edu.sg/ takes place this afternoon, 23 Nov 2018, 2-4pm.sadhuvish:
Hello sadhuvish,DD has 254 cutoff. Is it safe to opt for NJC and cedar as first and second choices? If she is not eligible for both, will she surely get into Temasek JC?
I'm not certain how accurate this online information is, but if you were to reference https://www.tutorchen.com/top-sec-schools-cop-eesis-cop/ here, there is chance. Good luck! -

That's the Twilight Zone
@floppy, based on your judgement, any prediction for COP between 230-240? Increase or decrease... Thxkola:
It depends.
The most popular schools, i.e. COP > 240, are most likely to remain the same. If they do change, wouldn't be more than + - 2 points.
Schools with COP between 200 and 220 tend to see greater fluctuations.
In the Twilight Zone, anything can happen :rotflmao:
DD T-score fall in the zone... Now headache :slapshead: -
Hi! DD scored 230. We are considering these schools:
Clementi Town
Kranji Sec
Jurong Sec
Bukit Batok Sec
Queensway Sec
Anyone can share info on the school culture and student behaviour/discipline? Looking for nurturing environment and dedicated teachers. Scores are of lesser importance.
Thanks! -
hmm is ESIS 260 or 258?

Derek_Lee:
Yes. One of my friend daughter score well in Secondary was asked to go for NA (Express) in Secondary 3 next year!
There is still chance to be promoted to Normal (Academic) when he goes to Secondary School and if he perform well in NA to be promoted to Express is also possible.sweet simi:
PSLE result out today
My DS got NT,scored 128.
what is the pathway to go to JC
can he appear for o level?
Sec 1 & Sec 2 was NT.
So, Be strong, aim for Secondary! -

Para 2:
Hi,sadhuvish:
People should get over this 'safe' 'not safe' 'wasted' idea of making your choices.
It is posting based on their detailed aggregate scores in the PSLE that extend to decimal points.
Merit comes before choices.
This article should be a 'readme first':
https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/how-secondary-school-posting-is-done
The article doesn’t clearly specify if they are describing the old or new system. Hence the confusion for newbies like me. Different people suggest different things. Some say that it is based on the choices order. So, I would like to get advice from this forum before we make an irrevocable change.
Many thanks!
\"But the new system will take effect only in 2021. Until then, the old scoring system applies. Pupils go to the secondary school of their choice based on their aggregate score in the PSLE.\"
I know our media is ranked 154th and occasionally promotes fake news by the Government, but in this case, they are quite clear and accurate.
Thank you floppy!
Just wanted to share some more info for parents who will be exercising their DC's secondary school options during this week. I did some search on Google. Found this MOE website, which is more informative for anyone who are still confused like me:
https://www.moe.gov.sg/microsites/psle/FAQs/posting-changes.html
Hope this helps!
