Dear Floppy,
Muse @ Newton?floppy:
Was in 100AM been given brochure for new project call 10 Evelyn.
The guy was telling me located within 1km of ACSP, ACSJ & SJIJ.
They got ad running in this forum.
Has anyone got any feedback?
Yes, it's within 1km to all 3 schools but at > $2,500 psf, it may not be the best option if distance (to the 3 schools) is an important consideration. I would rather look at other options.
Thanks for sharing.
No not Muse it is 10 Evelyn.
I call ad & learn lots from the agent about admission.
Within 1km no guarantee but will give a big boost.
When to his preview, was impressed by his small $1.2+m & ID quality.
I gave refundable cheque to book seat for Friday's launch.
Call him, even no buy also can get good tips from him.
Hi Lailok,
Yes within 1 km to the 3 boys' schools. Went to see the showflat at Amara. Didn't book a place but welcome to the neighbourhood! -
levinakit:
Hi Levinakit,Dear All,
Is it possible to register different addresses for Phase 2B and Phase 2C.
Using this example, we would like to apply for Nanyang Primary under Phase 2B using the rented condo address which is <1km but unfortunately we did not get in during the balloting process.
Then we change address back to our HDB address to register for Phase 2C for the nearby neighbourhood school.
Is that ok?
I am considering doing the same thing. Meaning apply to school A in Phase 2B from home 1 (which I own and which is not rented out and which is within 1km of school 1) and if I don't win the ballot, then in the 3-4 days before registration of Phase 2C legally change my address to home 2 (which I own and which is not rented out and which is within 1km of school 2) and then apply to school 2 from that address.
Looking at the MOE language, it is subject to interpretation:
\"The 30 months stay requirement is applied from the point of P1 registration onwards. For example, in the 2018 P1 Registration Exercise, the 30 months requirement starts from the commencement of the P1 Registration Exercise on 28 June 2018.\"
Interpretation 1: Hard and fast date. At the exact date of Jun 28, whatever address you are officially residing in is the address that you must stay in for 30 months. Meaning I cannot do what I propose above (ie change \"addresses\" in between 2B and 2C).
Interpretation 2: Whichever address you successfully apply from, for the Exercise that begins Jun 28, will be the address you must stay in for 30 months. Meaning if you apply and fail from address 1, but then apply and accept in address 2, then its allowed so long as you stay in address 2 for 30 months.
Can the Masters please clarify this, and anyone with real concrete experience and know for 100% sure the answer please confirm?
This is really important (to me).
Thank you all so much. -

Hi Floppy and other masters,cherrygal:
Fraud is only if you use the address and don't live in it.
Yup.
Therefore, if you own 2 or 3 properties, you could use 1 address for Phase 2B registration, update to another for Phase 2C registration, and update to the last for Phase 2Cs registration. You will then move in and stay in the one that you got in via distance priority.
I am open and able to live in either address, no tricks or deception here; I would really move.

Called MOE before re your question. Interpretation 2 is fine. Just stay 30 months in the address you used for registration. You can move out of the distance range once your kid turns P3 (around Jan/Feb).

We had to rent when our place was still under tenancy at point in time of P1 registration. Within 2 mths of tenancy expiry, we change address with the school. No issue raised as it was both with 1km. When DC successfully DSA we planned to move back to our home in the west in the early part of PSLE year coz we found a buyer to takeover the home we stayed for 5 plus years. So, think the 30 mths rule shld be within the defines of after P1 allocation.

hello all, thank u for sharing all these valuable insights in the forum. Its truly helpful and i cannot begin to tell you how much i have learnt from reading here. However, i am still abit lost so pardon me if my questions are not very intelligent.
can i check a few things
1. for 2C, can u use multiple addresses to register at different schools for 1km?
for example if my parents stay near a good school within 1km at hougang(plmgs), then near queenstown my mil stays within 1km of chij kellog, my fil stays opposite kong hwa and i stay 1km to gongshan/poi ching? and then we have another house at 1km to st nics? does it mean i can choose WHICHEVER house i want to apply for 2C?
2. I cant seem to find the full list of phrase 2b for 2018 exercise, can anyone tell me where can i get it?
3. if u are an alumni at a reputable school will u still bother to apply for other schools? i am from maha bodhi the school is reputable but i am undecided if i should apply elsewhere for my kid because we prefer single gender schools as of now.
thank you so much for the help! -
Hi,
:
You can only submit one registration for Phase 2C - so you have to decide which it will be. Note that your family should be staying at that residence (at least 30 months after....not sure which baseline). For practical reasons, pick the address that works best in practice, you don't want to stay in a place that is super inconvenient unless of course you have the freedom of time. If it's your mum/in law place, and your ic shows a different address, you will need a letter to confirm the caregiver arrangement AND you will be under 1-2Km consideration even if they are staying right next to the school.1. for 2C, can u use multiple addresses to register at different schools for 1km?

I would think all schools would accept 2B - if not religious/clan affiliation, then parent volunteers, or grassroots leaders. Should you not be shortlisting the schools you are keen in and then think if there is avenue for 2B?2. I cant seem to find the full list of phrase 2b for 2018 exercise, can anyone tell me where can i get it?

Non alumni will thank you for this. it's not easy to get in MBS and usual thinking would be to register your child first and then monitor during 2C to see if your child is able to get in that other school. Do note you cannot turn back the clock - once 2A is over, you cannot use affiliation to try get your child in should you fail in your choice schools in 2B or 2C. And frankly, 2B/C can be really hard to get a place.3. if u are an alumni at a reputable school will u still bother to apply for other schools? i am from maha bodhi the school is reputable but i am undecided if i should apply elsewhere for my kid because we prefer single gender schools as of now.
Good luck with your selection. -
Thank you so much for the prompt reply!
For the case of 2B, i am looking at st nicholas but it doesn’t seem to update the stats to reflect on the system in 2018?
From what i can see, 2016 and 2017 st Nic 2B seems achievable. In which, from the stats it seems like as long as u PV, religion and 1km then all the applicants seems to be able to enter? Then as long as I can do the above it seems like I have a fair chance?
Is it possible to go and secure 2A as alumni and then go for st nic 2b day and see if i can put her in? Does any parent do that? Cos i understand its different days. -

PV / religious connection - just one will do. No added bonus if you have PV + affiliated religion.Thank you so much for the prompt reply!

While it’s true that in some years, Phase 2B < 1km got into SNGS without a ballot, in other years, a ballot is required. Once you opt to apply in Phase 2B, you will have to give up your place in Phase 2A and if you fail in the ballot, you will have to look for another school or try your luck at balloting again in Phase 2C -
Hello,
I would like to ask a question. My Son will be registering for P1 this year. However, we bought a property and will likely move in second half of this year. Can we use our current address to register for his primary school and move in to our new home after?
Thanks in advance!
