From the zero response to my original email on the chance of successful appeal to medicine, I think the conclusion is: almost none. :scared:
Hi,
Can anyone share if your dc received nus offer after the initial mass-acceptance stage, did your dc made an appeal?
Basically, I'm trying to find out if there is any chance in appealing for medicine.
Thanks.
In any case, would appreciate if you can update this forum if you/your child receives an offer in the second wave? Many thanks. -

Is your child on waitlist or has been rejected by the medical schools ? IMO, there’s really no need to appeal as the medical schools have shortlisted candidates on their waitlists. Should a vacancy arise, the school will make an offer to the first person on her waitlist.

My child shared with me that during orientation @ YLL, there were students transferred from LKC to YLL. These students were on YLL waitlist and had accepted LKC’s offers. I don’t know the reasons for the transfers so I can’t comment on that.
Hope it helps.. All The Best to your child ! -

Very helpful, your post. And thank you SO MUCH for responding. I have been wondering why this forum is so quiet after being so active and supportive last year.
My ds is on lkc waitlist. Now that the first wave acceptance deadline is over, I would appreciate if anyone can share if u receive any update from nus/ntu in wave two. TIA. -

As we know, those who receive offers from both YLL and LKC will accept only one offer. Once they’ve made their choices (by 24/5), there’ll be vacancies in each medical school to offer to those on waitlist.
From what I’ve heard, chances of a LKC waitlist converted to an offer is very high. Last year, there were offers made by LKC, even after term had started in Aug.
Is your child @ NS now ? If you do hear good news from LKC by June, your child may be able to disrupt NS w.e.f. 1st July. Good Luck ! -
SONG456,
Have u DC received LKC offer ready ? Thanks. -
hi, i am also about to ask the same question as my DS still have not gotten any response for the waitlist. Is this consider rejected already?

So sorry for the late response.
No, no response from any uni. My take on the situation is that SG is hitting the saturation point of doctors. Go read the straits times article on Singapore having too many doctors published on 9Jun. -

Thanks for reply. My friend’s son accepted duke offer. At least he got an medicine offer and it is up to him to study hard at university. Duke is conditional offer.
10 years back it only nus had offer for 260 entries for medicine, half for girl, half for boy, now it has 500 entries for three medicine school. There are more Hospitials in SG now. Also MOH recruits more oversea doctors.
Looks like it is hard to get offer from LKC. -
Hi, Song456,
U can ask your dc to apply nus duke next year. There are a lots of combined program for this.
