Do the girls usually stay up late to meet projects deadline? Living at Sengkang and will need to get up early to travel to RGS.

Depends on the girl. My daughter hardly ever stayed up beyond 11pm, and that was only in upper sec. But some were staying up in the wee hours even in lower sec. Time management and working quickly and efficiently is important. Your daughter can also try to maximise her time by reading/planning on the journey.

Actually, with the shift to Braddel last year, it doesnt take very long to travel from Sengkang to school.

Travelling time from SK to RGS is around 50mins. SK Station to Braddell station take about 40mins. Another 5-10mins walk from Braddell STN to RGS.

Actually, the students come from all over Singapore, so SK is no exception. We stay in CCK and some of my girl’s classmates stay in Jurong West too. So to us, distance is not much of a consideration if RGS is what your girl wants.

Do all the girls need to do sports a lot like competition? My girl is not good at sports.

If u are referring to CCAs, no. The girls are free to choose other cca forms like performing arts, clubs & societies or uniformed groups. Need to choose only 1 CCA. PE lessons will have some sports included.

Sports as part of PE will be compulsory, but it's non-competitive. Sports CCA - usually it's people clamouring to get in and complaining that the selection is too stringent! So if your daughter doesn't want to do a sports CCA, that's not a problem.

Can anyone advise on the environment in Rgs? Caring n sharing among girls or competitiveness observed. Will gals from underprivileged families be looked down ,looking forward to genuine opinions. Thank you very much.

My girl studies, makes notes and shares with her friends. Maybe she is not the competitive type, but I didn’t hear anything from her about observed competitiveness. The girls are generally self-driven, self-motivated, respectable and fun-loving, but not mean to each other. Nobody asks or talks about their family background. At least not that she had encountered. We are grateful for “sisters in learning and sisters at heart”. The friendships and bond that she made are invaluable. Our experience is that it has been a really fine school.
