Thks. My son does have a good reading habit, but he has finished all the books that were recommended in P6. I have bought some new books for him as well, but he doesn’t seem very interested. So looking for age-appropriate books for Sec 1or 2 to keep him occupied. Any recommendations will be appreciated!
Hi, DS will be joining Sec 1 next year. May I know if Sec 1 / 2 have a reading list? He’s feel very bored at home and I think he can really do more reading. Thks!

Yes it's good to encourage a reading habit. Don't think there's a reading list as such. Apart from reading age appropriate fiction books, I have encouraged my DS to read the Literature book for the coming year, and have some guidance etc on how to better \"appreciate\" Lit as a subject. He seems to be enjoying it, so hopefully interest is sustained for him to have a good start to picking up the subject.
Depending on his area of interest etc, can try googling for recommended good reads list, for appropriate level, eg: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/lists/award-winning-books-for-teens

Try this list from the GEP ERP, if you haven't done so.

Thanks for the link! Yup, he’s read most of the books on the list and loves many of them. So was hoping there’s a similar one for Sec 1/2. But it’s ok, have found interesting ones on the common sense media list, hope they’ll keep him occupied for now 🙂

Will this pair of shoes be allowed for Year 1s?

                Welcome to RI! :rahrah:

The following should answer your question.

Shoes should be clean and in good condition.

Year 1-4: Students are to wear white-based sports/canvas shoes secured with velcro or white shoe laces. White socks must be worn.

But in your opinion, will this pair pass? It's cheaper, light and more comfortable than B. canvas shoes.

It may get dirty easily so probably need to clean it often.

Is the new assembly time at 7.45am for 2021? I heard it was mentioned during the live webinar two weeks ago, but haven’t seen it written anywhere. Will be good if it really is 7.45am as I could drop off the primary school siblings n still have time to drop him off at RI.
