He loves the friendship and camarademie currently, without the presence of girls, and he wonders if the presence of girls will change things hahaha.

I too am surprised at how much he loves school, peers etc. So much so I feel sorry that Covid has impacted the kids and the range of their activities and interactions so much. Haha the main highlight is the Combined Sports Meet (for councillors between HCI and NYGH) but this has not taken place in two years! haha.

btw, I also wonder why my son is not interesting in applying for special programmes in JC. Maybe he’s too slack lol!

Sad. Perhaps suggest an online meet, see if the school keen.

Maybe do a virtual meet? Suggest to school and see what they say?

                  @doodbug
I ever asked dd’s form teacher (also her biology teacher) during a sec 4 PTM.
Was told no common paper with HCI for biology in the sec 4 EOY but they do look at each other’s exam papers.

                  Thanks Lego!
I think the most valuable papers to have 'common' are Maths, Phy, Chem and perhaps English.
Bio - the A and O level syllabus are very different, and in HCI's case, no need to take Bio in upper sec to take Bio at A levels.
Am glad to hear that HCI boys are sufficiently prepared for Year 5. So far, I don't find the exam papers or standards killer style at HCI....

The girls who dun take Bio in Sec 3&4 can still opt for Bio in JC, right?

For HCI boys can, so I assume NYGH girls also can? HCI boys need a B3 in Chem. Best to check with school.

                      😄 I remember u mentioning this previously.
He must have enjoyed his times in HCI (high school) very much!
It’s still the same school with HCI boys forming one third of the cohort, just that there are some girls now and more mugging.
All the best to him, 加油!

according to my DS, the Sports CCA kids will have the most interactions between HCI and NYGH - apparently for a good number of sports, NYGH girls go over to HCI to train at least once a week?

My son is not in sports - he is in performing arts. Supposed to have a combined concert with a girls school (strangely, not NYGH) can't recall this year or last year, but it did not materialize due to Covid.
Most other CCAs - no interactions between NYGH and HCI lah 🙂
The councillors work together on CSM - but sadly as I said, that event has not taken place the past two years.
