I submitted my volunteer application form for CCMC/RC 2 months ago to the receptionist in my CC. Till date still no news

How will I get informed of my application?

How long will the application process take?

      Check with them again.

Sigh.... 3 months has passed and still no news from PA/CC/RC. Called the CC and was told PA still processing. So long & inefficient?!?
Yes, I agreed that they r quite inefficeint when processing. Even my EM status, the CC telling the chairman that I oredi confirmed during the meeting in Apr, and I only received my letter in Sep/Oct (can't remember). But if I'm not wrong, my application for observer is pretty fast, tink only less than 1 month. Reason could be our RC is consider a new zone set up.

Did you give your photo, maybe they find it more easily to process for those who have photo stick on the application form. Just my \"stupid\" feel. keke...

        hi,

        please enlighten me :

currently i m staying within 1km of rosyth pri sch n i m planning to apply as observer then eventually proceed to become executive member of the rc. btw i m registering my son in 2013. if in the event i move to within 1-2km of acs junior in jan 2013 can i transfer my em status to my new place continuing serving and still gain 2B eligibility for acsj?

        Thanks!

If you transfer from one RC/NC to another, it does not mean you automatically retain your EM status. As timtim said, it depends on whether your new RC/NC has EM vacancies.

Also, you would need to serve a full year as an EM in the RC/NC before you are eligible for Phase 2B registration. So the time you served as an EM in AMK GRC cannot be carried forward to Tanjong Pagar GRC.

It's good that you are planning ahead but you should probably decide now whether you are targeting Rosyth or ACJS, then volunteer at the correct GRC. But note that with the coming election, there might be a chance that electoral boundaries are redrawn. If you are going to move to 1-2km of ACJS, must pray that it is still in the same GRC as the school! Best of luck!

Even if the GRC are re-drawn, u cannot move to a place closer to ACJS. Your RC membership is tag to your home address. Any change to your home address actually disqualifies you from phase 2b.

Yup. I did submit a photo during my submission

I even attached a CV stating my past community involvement (involved in NDP for 5 years, elected in the Junior Common Room Committee during my Uni hostel life for the running of hall activities etc)

Probably will call them again to check

Did u mention anything abt Phase 2B? Heard that some RC chairmen don't like people joining for that reason...

                Hi Daddy D

I didn’t. As I dun like those ppl with those kind of "eye sight" to look at me. So even u are sincerely to do the work or any participating, ppl will still hv that mind set that u hv a motive, tat’s why I did not tell them in the 1st place.

But my sis told me tat their RC did mention to them that they only nominated 3 children for phase 2B in their zone in each year, not too sure how true or they just wanna to ask them not to continue.

                Thanks.

                  Hi GSK,

Can you tell me more about this? \"only nominated 3 children for phase 2B in their zone in each year\"

Totally not true. I'm the Vice Chairman of a RC, I can safely tell you there's no such thing exists. RC has no power to decide such thing. As long as you're an Exec Member meeting the requirement set by PA (min. of 12 months service as EM before 30 Jun), your child will be qualified for Phase 2B granted by PA, not RC. In fact, the whole process of P2B eligibility and application (to PA) does not involve RC at all. We are not even informed of whose children will be due for P1, not to mention nomination for P2B.

Phase 2B is no such big deal anyway, in very popular school, even those P2B within 1km also needs balloting.

                        Hi i3mum

My brother-in-law joined as observer and told them the reason of joining, and they told him off tat only nominated 3 children in their RC. So he gave up. Tat’s wat I know.

                        Hi TimTim

Glad tat u hv the answer. I hope is not true too.
Regarding RC not involved, our chairman did send to all members an email on the on-line application of the P2B in PA system. He sent to us in May even my children not due for P1, or those without children.
