          Please help

          1) Susie bought 5 kg of flour and 4 kg of sugar for $14.80. If 3/4 kg of flour coast as much as 3/5kg of sugar, find the cost of 1 kg of sugar ?

2)The no of marbles Aaron has is 8 more than 4 times that of Bala's. The no of marbles that Najib has is 5 more than 1/8 of Aaron's. Najib has 9 fewer marbles than Bala. How many marbles do they have altogether.

                    [/quote]Hi ozora,

                    Aaron had 8 units + 8, so 1/8 = 1/8 of 8 units + 1/8 of 8 = 1 unit + 1

                    cheers

                      Hi

                      Need help with this question:

Karen made 120 more cookies than apple pies. After selling one third of the cookies and 25% of the apple pies, she had 70 more apple pies than cookies. What is the total number of cookies and apple pies that Karen made?

                      Thanks!

                        Hi

You may use MD to solve this question.

Some quick pointers for the MD.If needed, I’ll draw out the MD at a later time.

                        Cookies ----- 12 units + 120
                        Apple pies ------ 12 units

                        Cookies sold ------- 4 units + 40
Apple pies sold ------- 3 units

                        Cookies left ------ 8 units + 80
Apple pies left ------- 9 units

                        9 units ------- 8 units + 80 + 70
                        1 unit ------- 150

                        24 units -------- 3600
                        Total number -------- 3600+120 -------3720

                        Best wishes
