      hi Frog,

in your opinion, is it easier to get into NUSH compared to RGS / NYGH ?
Well, its debatable, my DD has some classmates who got into RGS but not NUSH, so it may seemed harder to get into NUSH. Similarly my DS got into HCI but on WL at ACS(I) previously, in these cases I guess it could be the places available for NUSH and ACS(I) are fewer. ACS(I) is about 150 and NUSH less than 200 vs RGS up to almost 2.5x or RI similarly.

Additionally NUSH and ACS(I) both offer unique programme within Singapore context, so could be perceived as more exclusive by some. Likewise SOTA also is very competitive.

NUSH requires two rounds which include a day camp, RGS 2 rounds if you are not exempted from the 1st round aptitude test. My DD was exempted for RGS 1st round.

On the other hand, some students may actually be more comfortable with the camp selection process rather than the interview process at RGS, so there are too many factors to really suggest if its easier or more difficult for either.

        hi Frog,

Thanks very much for your precious, valuable feedback.

indeed, you are blessed with a bright, intelligent daughter - able to receive > one COs from NUSH, RGS and NYGH. Although sometimes may lead to dilemma when comes to making the final decision, still your daughter and you are blessed! 😄

Actually I am blessed that my DW was willing to shelved her career to be at-home-mum so that she could be with them during their formative years. She managed their every needs from nourishment to education to enrichments. In everything there is an opportunity cost.

Hi I faced a similar \"problem\", a CO from NUSHS, WL from HCI. Really in dilemma which school to go. One is my dream school as I excel in Maths & Science while the other is very good school that all boys would love to go. Can anyone share their opinion or experience with me before I make the decision ? Thanks a lot.

                Hi papaya99,

I'm sure you've done your research on both schools, visited both Open Houses and have read up all the relevant threads in this forum. Now ask yourself honestly which school you prefer, which one suits your personality best, which one would give you more opportunities academically, which one would develop your potential best and open more doors for you in the future. List down all the pros and cons of both schools and discuss these with your parents. If you have any friends or relatives in either school, chat with them too for an honest current opinion of the two schools. Both are very good schools and I don't think you'll go wrong with either with them.

                  Hi jtoh,

Thanks a lot for your reply, will be accompaning DS to the HCI Parents Symposium next week to have a better understanding of life in HCI. Hope we can make a choice after that. 😄

…well, my DD just keyed in NUSH, its her choice, and she is excited about going there next year, so support her decision.

Wow, that's great ! At least found someone that has the same passion as DS. He is going to choose NUSHS instead of HCI from his DSA Option and take on a route less travelled by all by putting NUSHS as his 1st choice. Hope he had made the right choice !

…should be the right choice looking at the way NUS is expanding, possibly by the time the incoming Yr 1 NUSHS cohort enter NUS, it would have gain further ground towards being amongst the best in the World.
