Are you sure the class starts next Monday? Did Ms Lam say it will start next Monday. I think she only said to look out for the consent form.

I heard too...do you noe Group means it is the same kind of PTM we had last year. All the parents sit thru' a briefing in the hall and then proceed to individual classroom accordg to class. The form teacher n MT teacher will go thru' some stuff and take Q&A?

Frankly speaking, this kind of PTM is not very useful..I like the older days kind..1 to 1. At least, I can ask the FT or MT T on my kid performance. This kind is more like a mass briefing.
Thinking of wht attending as we need to fetch the kids for enrichment classes...cant make it at 830am...we stayed too far :sad:

True, but at least it shows that the principal is receptive to feedback. Back in January, there was no plan for PTM at all. Now there is PTM. So, if we think that the group PTM is not so meaningful, we can always feedback to Mrs Wong. I am sure she always welcomes constructive feedback.

Besides, the group PTM gives the teachers an opportunity to meet the parents face-to-face and vice versa. I believe that once we are able to put a face to a name, we tend to be more receptive. So, who knows, after meeting the teachers, the teachers will be more responsive to our e-mails or enquiries?

Having said that, there is nothing to stop you from writing to the teachers, or arranging to meet the teachers. Instead of waiting for twice a year to meet the teachers, if I am truly concerned with my children's progress in school, I will write to the teachers immediately or make appointments to meet up with the teachers. I suppose this is Mrs Wong's intention and idea of partnership between parents and teachers. If the teacher doesn't respond to our queries, we can very well show Mrs Wong that lack of response as well as prove to her that her method doesn't work. So, before we do any of these, it may be worth giving this continous communication and feedback channel a try.

There are always two sides of a coin. Your points are valid. Mrs Wong's viewpoint is not wrong either. However, Mrs Wong is calling the shots, so we just have to make the best out of the current system. Since she has decided to adopt this system of continuous feedback and communication, the onus is then on her to ensure that this method works. How she is able to do that, I have no idea, because she has so many teachers to manage. Humans, as we know, can be difficult to control, right?

Yes heard the English remedial lesson would be on 27 Feb & 5 Mar. Heard that not enough time to cover the syllabus that why need to program for it.

How about other classes which have similar situation?
