Hi Augmum,
Which grade did ur dd opt for? 5 or 6?
Examples are so easy? Wow! her std must be very high.
According to DS, the trial paper they did was not easy.
They had to listen to whole long compre and do 50 mcq.
Another component, they have to read 1000 words passage in 10mins and do summary based on memory of the passage as the passage will be collected after reading. :yikes:
Well....this is what i heard from my gal......
Dont think it is becos of her HCL std, she said that all her frens were saying the same thing during the briefing....
\" So easy, straight forward questions, as compared to their existing HCL std \".
i am not too sure which grade she had chosen as i recalledย
she did ask me this question before as which grade to choose,
and i told her that it was up to her to decide on it.
Yes, she did tell me ย yesterday that the trial paper had near to 50 MCQ questions for the listening comprehension,
And abt 10 short passages for comprehension questions.
The last component being the ไนฆๅ ใ
Or Perhaps, they both might be referring to diff grade ??
ยFat Mama:
Arhh.....i also cant remember how much did we pay for it as it was sometime ago.No oral for the written component, you have to pay extra $60 to opt for oral.
Nowadays, i cant keep track of all her stuff as they are really loaded with too much stuff,
their school workload is unexpectedly high.....
so many things all due on the same day.....poor kids....
 :faint:
Last night DS said that the trial paper was easy, can score 100% kind. . That is for grade 5. Btw, the students were given a copy of it.
Hello Fat Mama, your child is taking grade 6? Becos G5 has no summary writing component that you mentioned. DS said his classmate taking G6 had also commented that G6 trial paper was tough.
Nowadays, I also seldom check his stuff...getting lazier. DS has to wash own dishes and iron own school U.

Hi oldmummy,oldmummy:
Hi
Re PTM with the teachers, what happens if parents have to work full day on Saturdays and it's not possible to take leave? Can we arrange for a separate day to meet? or do we have to do it over the phone?
You can give a call or drop an email to inform the FT, request him/ her to help to inform all subject teachers to contact you if they have any issue with your child.
So far, in my case, the teachers are very helpful and pro-active. They are more ganchiong than me.
to arrange for a date and time if u wanna to meet her/him to discuss on something.
most emails are replied within the same day or the next day.....Nightrace:
LOL :rotflmao:They are more ganchiong than me.

Nightrace:

Don't worry, from past experience, most likely is on Saturday
-
Nightrace:
So it was diff last yr, no more all crowding ard the teachers, haha.....
Oh yes, this was how it was conducted when I attended PTM for Y1/2010. But it was different last year. It was 1-to-1 and you have to queue to see each subject teacher.
More privacy
But we were only given a few minutes with each teacher and there was a student besides as a time-keeper.
i wasnt aware of the change as i did not attend the PTM in yr 2.
oh....still need a student besides as a time-keeper....so must shoot all questions fast ....

Yo, Augmum,
Finally I asked because Augmum is like the ambassador of this thread. So when Augmum asks, have to *salute* and YES MADAM! hahaha...
Yes, likely to attend PTM as I have some doubts to clear regarding Y3 subject enrichment. Other than that, no news is good news.
Haha...listen to P's words, i.e. washes own dishes. Now must iron own school U to start develop enduring skills (from home).
