I don't want ERPS on Saturdays. Hated this. -
I hope that preschool education be regulated. A least have some structured framework, standards and guidelines. As it is now, there seem to be a lot of disparity among different service providers.
I hope more can be done to inculcate stronger moral values among the younger generation. What’s wrong with the young? Having sex with teachers? Being an underaged prostitute?
No matter what we propose, Everyone has a part to play -the government, the people, the parents, the schools, everyone. No point pointing here, there everywhere except ourselves. -

okay back to topic : what I want for SG *non-debatable* -- stop all irresponsible anonymous internet postings / rumor mongering / cyber-posturing.....this is what I want and is *non-debatable* as per thread starter's request
p.s. sorry to trespass this thread -
My wish list:
1) A direct train from Primary to Secondary School. Less emphasis on PSLE.
2) School hours to run from 9am to 5pm. More SAHM/D can rejoin workforce. Reduce reliance on domestic help and child care centers.
3) Subsidize school bus fare. Reduce traffic congestion and carbon emission.
4) Set up music, foreign language, art and sports centers to cater to students who want to pursue these areas of interest. This can be part of school hours eg 3pm to 5pm.
5) Higher profile for ITE and Poly courses. Strike a balance between vocational training vs academic studies.
6) Open up more courses at tertiary levels for Continuing Adult Education. -

I feel the CME period in school should not be used as a \"spare tyre\" for other academic subjects when the teacher fails to complete the syllabus on time. The less moral ed the children have in sch, the more we have to do at home. Sometimes, teachers' words may carry more weight than parents if the teachers are well-liked.
I'm not advocating that moral values should be solely the job of the school, these values should primarily be imparted by the parents. However, the school should not pass over opportunities (CME lesson) like that to instill right values to the children. I remember as a child, I enjoyed such lessons as they were taught in a lively manner with stories about ancient Chinese folklore characters and the lessons behind them.
