CCA for secondary one
-
huh, so difficult to get A1 & A2 eventhough spent so much time. Then for club & societies nnot so active not possible to get A1or A2.
quote="jedamum"]Is it that easy to get A1 or A2in cca? Or must win competition or in leadership role? I remember although spending three times a week on band, I only got a B grade as I was not in leadership position.[/ -
Oh and if your kid plans to join a UG cca for the points, make sure he/she is determined to stand under the hot sun etc and endure for the rest of his/her secondary school life because ccas such as UG if you quit you lose all your points. (unless because of medical reason)

i was in clubs for 2 years and i had managed to get 23 leaps points within that two years. i completed the 100 hours in sec 1 and joined a few competitions. it’s pretty easy to get that distinction for cca, i must say. almost 9 points are a giveaway, due to cip and enrichment. plus, you get another 4 basic points, which amounts to 13. thereafter, you can join competitions. it’s pretty easy.

thebigapple, What did you join in the clubs?

My boy did not have any CCA in his primary school except learning Taekwondo from Taekwondo federation. Will the school consider it as CCA if the school does not have Taekwondo.
Can he join tennis in Sec school if he does not know how to play? What is the max points he will get if he is not good enough to be in the school team? -

It is quite true that it's not easy to get A1/2 for total Leaps pts if the pupil joins a Clubs/ society as CCA,huh, so difficult to get A1 & A2 eventhough spent so much time. Then for club & societies nnot so active not possible to get A1or A2
Unless the CCA has many competitions and win in the competitions, otherwise only limited participation pts.
Try to get all the 5 pts for CIP for 100 hrs....
That's why most pupils are very active in CIP for sec 1 and sec 2. -

Yes, must able to endure under the hot sun......
In addition, most UG needs to go back on Saturdays, besides weekdays (perhaps not all Saturdays) -

Yes, since most primary schs don't offer tennis either, so most of the sec 1 recruits will be people that never play before. The coach will probably be looking out for those who are fast/powerful hits during tryouts amongst those who don't know how to play.My boy did not have any CCA in his primary school except learning Taekwondo from Taekwondo federation. Will the school consider it as CCA if the school does not have Taekwondo.

Not sure how many points if not in school team, but should still be a1/2 easily for representing sch even if not in sch team. -
hello i am in chung cheng’s scouts and its definitely much more eaasier to get leaps points. i am sec 3 this year and i already have 27 points a1 already. compare to my frens in those clubs cca they damn hard to get 20 points sia
