Nothing exciting, no gadgets, chat with parents, etc. My kids had a routine from babyhood, and although it's changed over the years, they are used to going to bed at a set time. They do use their gadgets right up to bedtime now, but mainly to WA, not to play games. And they aren't continually on their gadgets for hours; a few minutes at a time interspersed with talking to someone, watching some TV, just bumming around... In the weeks before exams when I was doing the most intensive revision, I would sleep by about 9pm and wake at 3.45am and put in a couple of hours study before I needed to get ready for the school bus which came at 6.20am. I liked those hours because it was cool and quiet. And I don't like to sleep in the afternoons as it makes me very groggy when I wake up.

I think more young people sleep late at night now because they have more entertainment. In my time, TV shut down around 11+ pm (not that I watched TV much), and there was no internet. So I only slept really late if there was a book I couldn't put down.
I can relate.. it used to be a book or two for us too, staying up late to read. However recent years, lots of time online gaming/browsing/reading/social media and on the phone. Pushing the hours back.. and with the blue light/ sleeping late, they can’t wake up in the mornings! Would be good if start time is 8-9am….

Zeal mummy

Reply to Students asking for school start time to be later on Tue, 17 Aug 2021 06:40:53 GMT

zac's mum\" post_id=\"2034705\" time=\"1629181782\" user_id=\"53606:
Zeal mummy\" post_id=\"2034699\" time=\"1629179069\" user_id=\"58173:
Actually nowadays I don't know how my eldest can sleep at 2am everyday and wake up at 630am every sch day?
