Yes. Calendars, not diaries.

I find it troublesome to walk to my handphone or PC, wake it up/turn it on and press the calendar to find the date I want while if I have physical calendar I just need to walk to the physical calendar. That's it. No need to wait for 1 second or a few seconds to wake it up and press the calendar button/tab.

But of course for my work, I use Google calendar 'cos can copy and paste zoom links, etc.

HP calendar / google calendar serves us well as you can set the (deadline) reminder for the whole family.

There's also ample space for u to insert URL, notes (e.g. the test/exam scope & rubrics), photos (u can paste the QR code screengrab), geo-tags & addresses, maps and weather. The colour bands/icons help us differentiate btw work & play dates. Very useful for holiday planning as well as exam planning.

Any member can just key in a new/repeat event & able to set immediate notification & reminder to targeted individuals.

Can also filter events of individual member.

And we are not in the habit of writing diaries/journals.


I stopped using physical calendars as we never seem to remember to update them. Most of the family tells me stuff, and I put that in my phone calendar if I think I need to know. If they don’t tell me, then WA is a boon for checking on where people are. My kids have seen their own transport since they were in sec school, so don’t need sending and fetching.

Now dd starts to put some kind of reminders eg for zoom and some of them sync to mine… sometimes I can remind her.

Please share where to buy. Im also looking for a big family calendar (preferably whole year instead of those weekly whiteboards) to put in communal area.

Need everybody to see each others’ schedules, especially kid’s exam season + elderly MIL medical appointments, who is visiting us when etc.

The system will remind us 30 min before the meeting start. And my colleagues can check my calendar whether I am on vocation leave.

There’s a sentimental value but I won’t keep more than 2 years. (May need to refer what and when I did sometime last year. Anything longer, I also can’t remember that event occurred. Hahhahahah)
