i just received my o levels results a couple of weeks ago and am waiting for my posting to a new college.
my results are okay with a score of 9.
i chose meridian junior college as my first choice as i’m living near the sch, with just a mere 10mins bus-ride to the school.
but the question is: is my choice correct? is it a good sch? is it comparable to good schools like tjc?

Meridian COP become 14 now, expected a drop of 3 points (from 11 to 14), and it happened
(14 points was Tampines JC Cut-off-Point, in 2017 Science stream)

I have already explained very clearly in my previous posts - that your critieria of \"eligibility\" for university does not prove anything as the bar is so low. With A level passes you are \"eligible\" but that does not mean you will qualify and get into university. How does that prove 1 college is better than the other ??

Yesterday, at MJC Open house (15 Jan 2018), one boy asked a senior Academic staff, a similar question below.

The boy asked :-
\"I scored 10 points for my O level ... can i study 4 H2 subject combination (BCME), at MJC ? \"


(Reply), from a Senior Acadmic staff :-
\"But, what is your initial, RAW score ?\"


Answer, from Sec 4 boy :-
\"My RAW score is 12 points. Net 10 points.\"


(Reply), from the Senior Academic staff :-
\"Well, usually is 11 points & below.
This year, as we are merging with Tampines Junior College, may change.
Never mind, is all right. Just go ahead to apply for 4H2, with 12 points Raw ... \"

so, what's the Cut-off-point this year after merging these two JCs, for Science stream ?
we can know only in the 1st week of Feb, after the 2018 JAE posting exercise results is out, due to the \"Demand & Supply of vacancies, which nobody know, at this point in time\".

But school culture is laid back. Dont expect teachers to push you. If you push yourself, the teachers are there to help you. I would send my child to SRJC instead of TPJC. The teachers at SRJC work really hard for the students.
