She wants to share her joy with you and see her marry off 😉 I'm also married and in fact was 2 months pregnant when my friend asked me to be her jie-mei several years ago. Nowadays, ppl are quite modern and not so pan-dang unless you mind and its bother you then you've to turn her down soon so she can look for others.

definitely can. my friend had 4 bridesmaids, three married with one kid each, and the fourth was pregnant second trimester! and all four walked down the aisle before her.

think it’s mainly the brides’ personal preference, if her family don’t step in and make noise.

For jiemei, even less rules i think.

Smurf, the lead jie mei in the most recent wedding among my friends, is a married woman. It matters only if it matters to the bride, groom and their families.

I was already married when my good friend asked me to be the maid (matron rather) of honour - similar to bridesmaid lah, just married nia :roll: so again, terminology loh!

I agree with insider et al., if the family or you pantang, then best not to agree. Just my 2 cts worth!

I’ve been one for my friend before, and i was married already. Nowadays, we have so few siblings and cousins that we have to ask our good friends to be our jiemei too. if you are last one to get married among your close friends then you will not be able to have your trusted and close friends to be with you on the most important day of your life… maybe a little 遗憾. so from practicality point of view, its ok lah.

Why not, especially if she's your close friend and regards you as a special friend. I mean, we do not ask anyone to be our bridesmaid for that very important day of our life, right? Also, I think it is a compliment to you. It is a fact that you are married and yet, she has chosen you to be her bridesmaid, so means you still look great and elegant enough to pass off as a single! 😉
