1. 美食之家 Mitzi Restaurant at Tanjong Pagar. Cantonese Cuisine. Value for money and food tastes good.

2. 莆田菜馆 Pu Tien Restaurant at Kitchner Road. Hing Hua Cuisine.

Just a word of caution:

For any good food good restaurant, never choose to go on occasions like Mother's day and Father's day, it will kill your experience due to overcrowding, long waiting time. Just note these places and find an auspicious day to fulfill your filial piety to your parents and they will enjoy better, otherwise all good recommendation will be ruined by bad experience. 😄

But this year, I have sudden thoughts of bringing my mum to a hokkien restaurant that we used to frequent at telok ayer street.

are you referring to Bee Heong Palace Restaurant 美香酒楼?

Yes. We like the hokkien mee, kong bak pau and xia zhao..... :lol: There is another along that stretch. Can't remember the name.

we haven’t been there in months. but the food is healthy, suitable for elderly, i’m really not too concern with the service la. if you go when they’re crowded, i suppose their service may be lacking, but so will other places.

i guess other suggestions wld be the usual ding tai fung, soup restaurant, crystal jade, dian xiao er…these places serve food that my folks like.

It's a family restaurant that serves local and western cuisines.
We like it because we eat local and kid eats western.
Food is good.

The prices are normal restaurant rate.
