Dear all daddy/mummy, I need advise if anyone tried the Eu Yan Sang's Kitz Cough Powder? My 21 months toddler have been coughing for nearly 3 months, seek specialist twice but no improvement. I come across this Eu Yan Sang's cough powder for children and heard the effectiveness of it and bought 3 bottle as advised. After my son consume the 1st bottle, next morning rash appeared on my son body. Is this normal or should I stop the medicine?
I think you should stop the medicine since there is some allergy to it.

For long-lasting coughs, it's probably irritation of the throat, not so much an infection, i.e. \"post-viral inflammation\". Try giving him sips of warm water frequently to soothe his throat. Milky and oily foods can make it worse, so limit, or give him water to drink after consuming those.

Cold, dry air makes the throat more irritates, so if he sleeps in aircon, either turn it off, or increase the humidity in the room (drape a wet towel near his bed). Sleeping flat on his back can make the cough worse because of postnasal drip, so raise the head of his bed or let him sleep with a pillow under his head.

I think you should stop the medicine immediately. For TCM medicine, you cannot anyhow take, you need to bring your son for a consultation by a registered TCM physician and the TCM physician will prescribe the correct TCM herbs according to your son body condition. I have been under TCM medication for more than ten years.
