Even British's Queen's English is spoken differently by Americans.<br />The Americans adores British English, but you don't see them denigrating their American English.  The sad thing is: that is not the case with Singlish.<br /><br />I guess this is us being a small country and always have to speak \"proper English\" for the sake of communicating with other countries, but we should be proud of Singlish because it is in us all. Those that venture beyond their own shores assume that they will be understood - the privilege of big and powerful countries. I agree that Singlish is something that we should hold dear as it is uniquely \"ours\", but we have to be realistic - unless we manage to produce the same quantity of movies and cultural influences, and flood the world, we have to also speak and write standard English if we want to be taken seriously by the rest of the world. But we can always aim to master both, rather than only one.<br /><br />Back to the book in question - my daughters suggested that perhaps the images have been doctored, and there is no such book?
