He scored Silver<br />2) SASMO in P5. Scored Merit<br />3) SMOPS in P6. Scored Bronze<br />4) RI Pri Maths World Contest. Nothing.<br />5) UNSM. He scored distinction<br /><br />Question1. Are the competitions of similar difficulty? My son’s results are all different for the various competitions. Does any maths expert have a view on the difficulty and difference between each? <br /><br />Question 2. Which is more highly regarded for DSA applications? On the forum I see the most reference to SMOPS, followed by NMOS. Does anyone know.<br /><br />Thanks</p>

If she finds it useful, try out for one term. If she finds the pace too fast or too slow, go for another teacher/ center.  <br /><br />If the child has strong interest and aptitude, it is possible to do very well in MO competitions without regular training.<br /><br />You can track her progress using past years papers. Medals will be awarded to the TOP THIRTY participants of the competition based on their combined scores in both the preliminary and special round. The TOP TEN individual winners will also receive book vouchers. In addition, the TOP THREE individual winners will also receive cash prizes sponsored by the Singapore Mathematical Society.<br /><br />2.      Prizes will be awarded to the TOP TEN school teams based on the combined scores of the top FOUR scorers from the same school in both the preliminary and the special round. In addition, the TOP THREE school team will receive book vouchers as well.<br /><br />3.      All participants will receive a certificate showing their level of achievement (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mention and Participation).</p>
