I have scheduled an intensive program during June Holiday for students enrolled in NMOS 2026.

Well, most schools would have arranged some training sessions (around 15 hours) for the students. However, due to limited resources and time constraints, only selected students are offered the training.

The intensive training is to cater to those that need extra helps.

The major competitions for Primary 6 will be completed soon, and students will be focusing on PSLE preparation after that.

Now, most Primary 5 students will have started their NMOS training arranged by the respective schools by now.

As usual, I will be doing online workshop to go thru NMOS past year papers during June Holiday.

The first workshop will be in the first week of June Holiday and we shall work on 2021 and 2022 papers.

I have run 3 online sessions of RMO workshop to go thru 2023 and 2024 papers, and 2 online sessions of APMOPS workshop to go thru 2023 and 2024 papers.

I also started a 10-sessions SMO online program for Sec 1 student.

Also completed nearly 80% of the RMO/APMOPS Intensive training for P5/6 students.

Completed 4 sessions of SMO training at SJI on Thursday and Friday morning 9.10am to 12.30pm. A pleasant experience to conduct SMO training at SJI. The aircon room sitting arrangement is just right for a 30+ class size. The students are attentive and are willing to clarify/ask questions.

Will be arranging for more NMOS training.

The competition date for RMO, APMOPS and SMO are announced. Schools will start to register students for the contest. Training will probably be arranged for some students.

I am taking in students to prepare them for RMO, APMOPS, NMOS and SMO. Well, I will start a program to build the mathematics foundation of Primary 3 students, to help them in GEP selection and for future Math Olympiad contests.

From 2026, APMOPS Round 1 is opened to all Primary 5 students from Singapore schools.

• There will be 2 dates for Round 1.
• • 16 April 2026 afternoon after school curriculum hours (For Singapore P6 and Malaysia schools only)
• • 18 April 2026 morning (For Singapore P5 students and all other Overseas centres participant).
• P6 Individual winners will qualify for the following awards:
• • Platinum Award will be awarded to the top 1.5% participants or the top 50 participants whichever is lower with exceptionally outstanding performance that meets the minimum requirements set by the judges. Platinum awardees will also receive SGD$50 each.
• • Gold Award will be awarded to the next 2.5% or the next 70 participants of the field whichever is lower.
• • Silver Award will be awarded to the next 6% of the field.
• • Bronze Award will be awarded to the subsequent 10% of the field.
• • Others will receive an e-certificate of participation.
• Singapore P5 Individual winners will qualify for the following awards:
• • The top 20% participants will receive an e-certificate of Honourable Mention.
• • Others will receive an e-certificate of participation.

This year, I am taking in students for Secondary Math Olympiad Online Classes again after so many years. Well, I still conduct training in schools including NUS High, Catholic High, St Nic, Anderson etc.

I am doing the program again as I have students admitted to NUS High, ACS, Nan Hua and Maris Stella, and I think the program will help them in the school math, and getting better grade at Singapore Mathematical Olympiad.

I had incorporated the topics that I had covered in a typical Math Olympiad program in secondary schools and also added in more questions since it is a small group and hence can step up the pace.

From my experience, I have students missed the contest after completing the school training, just because they had June Holiday plan on the first week of June. So please plan accordingly.

Due to changes in my schedule, I am now available on Saturday 10.30am to 12pm.

I have decided to open a new class, PMO - Intermediate for P5.

AS P5 students might be selected to join RMO and/or SMOPS in March/April, it will be good for them to start PMO training as soon as possible.

But without training, it is almost impossible to get a good grade.

I am taking in new students for 2026.

For a start, I will open the registration of PMO Online on Tuesday for Primary 5 students.

Beside taking part in NMOS in June/July, P5 students might be selected/invited to join RMO and/or SMOPS, which are held in March.

While the schools might engage external training service provider for a short training (typically only 8-10 sessions), it will not have sufficient time to complete the training before the contests. Hence most of them will just waste the opportunity to get a better grade.

There will be 3 timeslots, 8am to 10am, 11am to 1pm and 3pm to 5pm.

On 29th, we will do SMOPS 2023, and on 30th, we will go thru SMOPS 2024.

Zoom meeting information and papers will be sent upon registration/payment.

The school term is going to over, and do you have any plan for school holiday?

Are you looking at DSA to top schools? Well, some may think it is still early since DSA only start when you are primary 6.

However, there is one important competition, NMOS, that is only open to Primary 5 students, and that one is the most important of all. The members of IMSO team are selected from the top 20 participants in NMOS.

Not to mention that it could also help in your application for NUS High since it is organized by them.

This year, my students obtained 1 Gold and 1 Silver, and also the top 20 female in NMOS 2026.

I also have a student obtained DSA offer from NUS High this year. Well, I might see him next year in NUS High if he took the elective module in Math Olympiad.

For students admitted to their chosen Secondary Schools via academic performance (especially on Math Olympiad), chances are they will also be expected to represent the school in the Singapore Math Olympiad organised by the Singapore Math Society.

The contest is usually on first Tuesday of June Holiday.

I am planning a 4 x 1.5 hours session over 4 Wednesdays as post-PSLE program for the kids to try their hands on some challenging questions.

It could be face-to-face at Clementi or Online via Zoom (or Google Meet).

He had been with me since Primary 2 (doing holiday programs), and then regular weekly classes for Primary 3, 4, 5 and 6.
