I am a former MOE teacher with 9 years of teaching and tutoring experience in H2 Chemistry and I also have a PhD in Chemistry.

My former students have commented that I am a patient and caring teacher who can explain concepts very well, and the total number of students I have taught in JC and online tutoring is around 200.

My students’ grades improved from U to B, S to A, D to A, C to A, B to A for A Level, and I have a few students who are inspired by my teachings and go on to pursue Chemistry in universities.

I also have my teaching resources such as lecture notes, tutorial questions, PowerPoint slides, past year exam questions etc.

I can only do online teaching via Zoom.

One or two days before the start of the very first lesson, I will check with the student on what topics and concepts he or she would like me to go through. This is so that I will have ample time to prepare the lesson materials. I will also WhatsApp the Google Meet detail to the student before the lesson so that he or she knows that I am ready to start the lesson.

During the lesson, I will check in with the student on how he or she is doing in school and depending on the student’s learning ability, I will tailor my lesson accordingly through the usage of PowerPoint slides, online whiteboard, tutorial questions etc.

After the lesson, tuition homework will be sent to the student. The student is also expected to complete the tuition homework, so that I can go through and provide feedback in the next lesson.

I strongly believe that with the right mindset and attitude, all students can improve and excel in their work. Since making mistakes is part and parcel of learning, I will always encourage my students to learn from their errors and praise them when they are able to get correct answers.
