Altho there’s no medication or cure for dengue, it’s better to hv professional monitoring any sudden dramatic drop/increase in blood pressure &amp; monitoring in case platelets fall far below 50s sth can be done in to bring it back to some normalcy. By day 4, he checked in to SGH &amp; had drips for 3 days before discharge when his platelets climb upwards over 2 days. He’s alr had high cholesterol &amp; high blood, that’s the main reason for family doc’s cautionary advice.<br /><br />As for DS, he had fever till the 3rd day before I had time to do bring him to NUH after settling DH at SGH coz the medical check at Raffles Medical yielded no results. Guess they just did the cursory check for covid but not dengue (he was tested C- then) and prescribed Panadol for fever. By day 4, they did blood test @ NUH then 3 days of panadol to bring temp down &amp; took platelet counts every other day, till the count climbed back up to a healthy 150 and he was fully out of woods by day 6.<br /><br />I can see DS being young, recovered faster than DH. I don't remember any \"special\" medicine they gave me.  In fact, I think when they diagnosed it, they just gave me the 5-day (? I don't remember how long) MC and kicked me out asap (yeah...
