North Vista was formerly known as Thomson Sec (near SLF complex). Personally, I would rate Ang Mo Kio Sec higher than North Vista (even though the school's COP for N(A) seems to be lower).

If you consider the school environment, AMK express stream has higher COP and higher median score (fairly high). This is likely to translate into a more driven and motivated study environment as the school is likely to be made up of better students overall. The school has generally reasonable academic standing among the schools in AMK (the better schools are obviously SNGS and Anderson, and on par to Presbyterian High School - which you could also consider). North Vista, on the other hand, is not among the popular schools in Seng Kang. I would guess that most students in North Vista probably didn't have the school as their top choices.

floppy

Reply to Secondary school choice for average student? on Mon, 28 Nov 2016 09:05:24 GMT

Hmmm, what is considered average, based on this year PSLE results? 220? :?

randwick

Reply to Secondary school choice for average student? on Mon, 28 Nov 2016 08:15:07 GMT

Thanks for your reply and advise.
