The best way to 'check' a diamond is to use a loupe (a 10x gemological magnifier) as standard magnifying glass is not powerful enough to see tiny stones like diamonds. Even with the loupe, the impurities inside the diamond must be big enough (very low grade diamonds) to be observed for the untrained eyes.

Diamond in particular is very difficult to differentiate from its synthetic counterpart. Gemologists must use high power microscopes and even advanced testing machinery. On the other hand, diamond simulants is not difficult. Several equipment are able to tell the difference from diamond and other simulant materials.

I love my wedding ring but the diamond is so small that you have to a magnifying glass to check it. I adore jade and ruby than diamond. I find diamond boring and too classy.

imagine last few yrs gold price incr fr $40+ to now $54 (avg) .....
now is quite ex to buy lei , heart pain to afford
Now I also dun buy diamonds - no resale value 😉 - i think swarovski crystal /stones are classy n nice enuff

Buy diamonds fr gold heart is ok & reliable
usually the Single Big stone is more Ex
VVS cut is also better light reflection ( shinier - must be double V for good cut)
colour - anything bet G to H ; i have a single stone colour I - can't see yellow with naked eye /almost colourless- some people dun mind tint of yellow - up to individual - so long not too yellow to me.
