din realise the hawker centre is built and up and running!!

went there for breakfast this morning and was thinking the temporary market behind the CC will still be there so i was pleasantly surprised to see the brand new hawker centre in its original spot..

Joo Heng is now at a corner on the row facing the HDB..

not open today leh.. so sad.. and i couldn't find my fav wan tun noodles / kway chup / ah peh dessert stall which used to be around.. a lot of new faces.. ah, the chai tau kway guy is still the same though..

My fav is the Seng Kee (kok kok mee) originally from blk 1A Eunos, now at Changi rd after Telok Kurau rd. You can even hv the soup that comes with fishmaw! :drool:

Finally went there for dinner.

The owner was there but he was not the one cooking. There were 4 china Chinese, 2 at the cashier and 2 in the kitchen cooking.

The chilli for the dry noodle is very nice.

The fish maw soup seems a little diluted, perhaps they had just topped it up with some hot water not long before we arrive. And the soup is $12 for a bowl, big enough for 2-3 person.

Overall not bad and definitely going back for me. Just a little concern over the cionsistence of quality since it is not longer cooked by the owner.

Where to find really good Minced Pork Noodles?


I used to frequent one at the food court in Great World City, but after the food court renovated some years back, the store changed hand and no longer tasted the same.

I also used to eat at Chai Chee, but after they expand and franchied, the taste has also changed.

any recommendation?

I personally like the \"Chai Chee Bak Chor Mee\" at this kopitiam at Ang Mo Kio East Ave 5 (besides COURTS). Don't know whether this is original or franchied, but it sure is nice - i always ask for extra pig liver and mushrooms .. yummy.

Anyway, the website state there is only 1 shop, no other. Thus the Vivo city's is probably not original.

just now chat with hub, he said that the viovo city stall could be his son's stall
heard fr him, there was a court case going on at that time.....
something like father was sueing son for something.....:!:

Regarding Bak Chor Mee, one of the best (at least to me) i had ever eaten was the stall at the old marina square HC

always very long longgggg queue

i think its name was 大华 Bak Chor Mee
anyone knows where they have moved to ???

There are others around which may be franchised or imitation. I've tried one at expo food court which tastes terrible. I used to eat it at Bestway Building along Prince Edward Road but not sure if it's still there or shifted to Crawford.

Hi, I think I ever come across a similar stall at Food Republic Food Court (3rd Floor) at VivoCity 1-2 years ago. If my memory did not fail me, I think the stall also called 大华 Bak Chor Mee.

I don't find this VivoCity stall that great as the standard varies. And it is super expensive. Maybe it is another franchies quality control issue.

I have not been to the Hill St's nor Marina Sq's
