It offers a strong Montessori curriculum and after my child enrolled in school, he has become more independent, and learnt chinese much faster. The teachers also give 1-1 sessions on a daily basis. My observation is that this childcare doesn’t not match those chain childcare, but it’s curriculum and the way the school is run offers so much more to my child.

I visited about 25 childcare centres before finally finding one that met my expectations in terms of learning objectives, teachers, and care-giving. The teachers are very warm and dedicated, they even specially took care of my toddler cos she is picky in eating. She is now beginning to eat better thanks to their encouragement. She didn’t cry badly when we first started school, which was surprising. My child would even bring her uniform to us on weekends and say "school", asking to be sent to school!

This school seems to be focused on learning, not just profits, and have lots of learning materials in their school. I was also very impressed by how their children were happy, and even 3 year olds can read many Chinese characters (even when asked in random order, not rote recitation). Many field trips are organised, and the atmosphere at the school is vibrant and joyful.

Even though their centre is quite a long drive away from home, I feel lucky to have found this school at the recommendation of another parent, and would just like to pass the information on as it can be difficult searching for childcare reviews online and this may save another parent some time in scouting around.

I visited two other montessori centres before I chose this one and was very disappointed with the others because one charge more for less materials and the other MMI teacher couldn't even explain how to use the material to us!

The montessori materials help to teach my kid how to read and write. My kid was able to pick up words in shopping centre mall when he was 4. Right now he is doing well in English and Maths. He is also learning abacus. The centre also emphasis on social and life skill in their daily curriculum. During school holidays, they even have cooking classes (make pop corns, pizza, cup cakes etc) and other activities.

There was a period in last year that they were quite a few staff turnover and they seem to be stable now. Current batch teachers are nice and caring, and show great patience. We feel it through our daily interaction with them. My kids also love the teachers.

I have all the positive things to say about this centre, only wish that the kid's bag can come back with things more neatly placed like how I packed them in the morning than looks like the teachers were just dumping plastic bags of things inside at the end of day

miao

Reply to Sunny Bunny Montessori Infant and Child Care Centre on Sat, 25 Feb 2012 10:54:56 GMT

I’m considering this childcare. We might have visited on a day they are shorthanded though, as one teacher seemed to be handling too many kids.

My wife felt that the place looks a little run down. Some reno would be useful. Some of the classrooms are also packed full of items/furniture, so they tend to appear squeezy and hazardous for the children moving around.
