DH’s view is to go for new ones as mathematically it does not make sense to pay $3,500 for something so old.

I ran to more than ten used piano shops before finally buying a new U1.

One of the salesmen I talked to told me that if a piano is over 30 years old, it’s likely that the piano has been reconditioned - the parts have been changed, and they (the parts) are usually not original.
