Can ask your child to take deep breaths before entering examination room, sleep well the night before examination. Also, encourage your child by saying words like \"Just do your best, don't worry if you make mistakes, we will still love you.\" Simple phrases of good luck, all the best etc before your child leaves home can also boost their confidence by giving them the minimal reassurance that as long as they tried their best, mummy and daddy will still love him/her.
Another way is to let your child relax and not do any more intense revision the day before the examination. Can do some revision but let your child have some relaxing time like time to use the computer/go outside to take a break/read books etc.

This is just my 2cts.

Good luck everybody! My daughter also very stressed as she wants to get into RGS. Recently, helping her to study is very hard as she keeps falling asleep. She sleeps very late at night and I am very worried for her. Anybody recommend me ways to help her? :stupid:

Must make sure she sleeps early and not late in the night! Tell her that if she sleeps late, she would have no energy to study hard the next day.Tell her that if she sleeps early, she would have the energy to absorb much more information the next day than when she studies late into the night without rest. I'm taking my PSLE this year too and I'm not feeling as much stress as my friends. I believe that the human brain works at maximum only when one has enough breaks in between revision and has the necessary sleep hours.

However, for the book type, we only managed to touch a few pages and the CD not event goes though a single complete scripts. May be DD feel boring by doing all these. As such, just let her watch the CL shows daily and 综艺大哥大 as the training for oral/listening skills.

The more important thing I highlight to her is to read the passage as loud as possible. To obseve the picture and the character carefully; start the discussion from left to right or right to left. Describe the time, the weather, the place, their action and the potential scenario, the positive or negative behaviour and also give constructive recommendation etc.

As for external lesson, I believe most of the Enrichment centre should have offer the Oral Course for P6 students.

DS said there are 2 sessions per day-- 7am and 9am. If you're in the 7am session, after oral need to stay in a holding room until the 9am session is over. To prevent topic from leaking. If in 9am session then just be in school by 9am. Don't think it ends at 1pm. Unless different schools practice differently.[/quote]my dd is in the first session on both days and she has to be in school by 7:15am. The school will hold them till 10:30am.

Hi, the following is what I know for Oral and Listening comprehension weighting:

EL

Oral - 30 marks
Listening Comprehension - 20 marks
Total = 50 marks

These 50 marks are weighting as 25 marks upon 100 marks



CL
Oral - 50 marks
Listening Comprehenion - 20 marks
Total = 70 marks

These 70 marks are weighing as 35 marks upon 100 marks
